In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m diving deep into one of my biggest pet peeves in the fitness world, those blanket statements like “I’m here to inspire you” or “If I can do it, you can do it too.” While people usually mean well, these phrases often miss the mark because they ignore how different each of our journeys can be.

Your forever active lifestyle is supposed to fit you, not someone else. That’s why it’s called your level fitness. I talk about how important it is to start exactly where you are, figure out where you’d like to go, and piece together your path one day at a time. I share how my early days working at a gym showed me the powerful shift that happens when people gain confidence in an area of life they never thought possible. When you experience progress, it changes not just your body but how you carry yourself and even how you see your potential in other parts of your life.

I’m reminding you that consistency already exists in your life, even if it’s not where you expect. Whether it’s brushing your teeth or sticking to your own shower schedule, you’re already showing up in ways that prove you can build habits. We explore how developing curiosity about your own fitness and eating habits, instead of guilt or comparison, leads to real and lasting change.

And I get honest about my own limits, like dealing with CP and fascia injuries, because there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. You’re allowed to do this at your level, even if that means you do things differently from everyone else. You should never feel guilty about food choices or about not being able to do what someone else does in the gym or on social media.

Ultimately, the inside/out process is about how you feel in your own head. It’s about calming anxiety, seeing your progress, and refusing to sell yourself short. Because the truth is, you don’t even know yet what you’re capable of achieving.

If you’re ready to get started, check out the links above. Whether you want to do this on your own using the blog and emails, or you’d like some extra help and coaching, I’ve got you covered. Thanks for listening, and remember, this is your journey, your level, and it all starts with taking that first step.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m talking about why it’s time to flip the script on how we approach fitness and weight loss. The industry loves to market against our insecurities, making us feel like we’re never enough and pushing guilt around food and exercise. I’ve been there myself, battling poor body image, guilt, and shame despite all the effort I put in. That’s why I’m determined to help you build a fitness approach from the inside/out, starting with curiosity and your personal preferences. When you connect with yourself and develop a solid foundation, you can navigate the ups and downs of life without feeling defeated or needing to “lock in.” We’re doing things differently, and this episode is your invitation to join the change and finally build a sustainable lifestyle you can feel good about.

  • Quieting the Food Noise: Practical Steps for a Calmer Mind
    Jul 5 2025

On this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m digging into one of the most relentless companions on a weight loss journey… food noise. You know, that constant chatter in your head about what you should eat, shouldn’t eat, when you should eat, or how guilty you feel after eating. We’re talking about quieting that noise, observing it without judgment, and learning how to gradually turn down the volume so it doesn’t rule your day.

I share practical strategies for taking the edge off food noise, starting with the most tactical one of all—making sure you’re eating enough and not waiting too long between meals. I also explain why fiber, water, and fruits and veggies can be your best allies for feeling fuller and calmer around food thoughts.

But food noise isn’t just about meals and snacks. It’s deeply connected to how you talk to yourself, the rules you think you’re supposed to follow, and the emotional history tied to your relationship with food. I’ll walk you through how to journal your “shoulds” versus your “realities,” observe your self-talk, and notice how your environment or social media triggers cravings you didn’t even know were there.

This episode is all about combining the logical and the emotional sides of managing food noise. It’s not about banishing those thoughts overnight but building skills and self-compassion to navigate them over time. And remember, everything ties back to the inside/out approach… working on your relationship with yourself is what helps you calm the chatter in the long run.

If you’ve ever found yourself mid-scroll on social media, suddenly craving a recipe you weren’t even planning to make, or if you’ve wrestled with guilt after eating certain foods, this episode is for you. Tune in and start taking your power back from the noise.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m introducing you to the YLF Experience, my new hybrid coaching program that’s built around the best parts of both one-on-one and group coaching. I walk you through what makes this approach different from the rest of the industry and how it's designed to give you personalized support without the high-ticket price tag that often comes with it.

We’re in the pilot phase of this program now through the end of August, which means if you sign up, you lock in a $99 per month rate for as long as you're in. From your onboarding call with me, to daily habit tracking in the YLF App, to nightly emails and four weekly livestreams that will also hit your private podcast feed... this experience is designed for real connection and long-term results. You can go at your own pace, get responses when you need them, and still be guided with structure and community support.

I also go into why I priced it this way, what I’ve learned from two decades in the fitness space, and how I’m building a program that helps you develop a forever active lifestyle from the inside out. This isn’t about chasing a look or needing someone else's approval. It’s about reconnecting with yourself and building habits you actually enjoy.

Whether you’re brand new and starting with the revamped YLF30 or ready to join the coaching program right now, I want to make sure you know exactly what you’re getting and how to use it to build your foundation. This is more than a fitness plan. It’s a mindset shift and a daily lifestyle, and I’m here to help you through it.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m taking you behind the scenes of what the YLF community is all about. Since it first started around 2016 or 2017, the idea has always been to create an inclusive space where anyone working on their relationship with food, movement, and self could feel supported. Back then, the online fitness world felt very tribal. Everyone was locked into one method or mindset. I wanted YLF to be the opposite of that.

Now, in 2025, the community has evolved. It’s not about social media trends or specific meetups anymore. It’s about the people choosing to live an inside/out life. If you’re building a forever active lifestyle or developing a better relationship with yourself, you are already part of the YLF community. You don’t need permission to belong here. This is a framework you can build from or blend into something that already works for you.

There’s no official group chat or designated hashtag right now. But if someone reaches out to you because they see you living this message, that is genuine connection. Not a prompt or directive from me. You get to navigate this in your own way. If you find that a group or accountability partner helps you move forward, I encourage it. But the message remains simple. Live your truth. Do what fits. Share it so others know they’re not alone.

If you have thoughts or questions about the YLF community or anything else from the episode, I’d love to hear from you. Just email me at daryl@yourlevelfitness.com.
