About this listen

Look beyond the fantasies of whip-cracking dominatrixes and cowering slaveboys, and you'll find real women and men in caring, consensual female-dominant relationships. Yet, given that social norms grant the majority of power to men, how do these relationships work? TammyJo and Fox have been building their female-dominant relationship for many years, and have gathered their most important discoveries and theories into this important manual. You'll learn:

  • How to take your roles beyond the bedroom
  • The role of rituals, contracts, and protocols in day-to-day femdom life
  • How to achieve training and growth that complement the nature of the relationship
  • How each individual can get his or her needs met within the context of a consensual disparity in power
  • How to integrate fetish desires into the relationship
  • How to cope with the realities of life (illness, work, family) without losing touch with the relationship... and much more

BORING!!!

I was extremely disappointed with this book. Since I love reading about BDSM and think female Dominants are intriguing and interesting, I had this audiobook on my wish list for several months. The synopsis led me to believe that I would get to hear firsthand accounts of how a FemDom and her 24/7 submissive lived their lives. Yes, Dominant TammyJo and her submissive Fox do provide firsthand accounts yet they are only vague generalizations and shared in an educational, instructional style. This book is and instruction manual or reference book; it is not exciting or interesting. I suppose this might be of interest to Dominant women or submissive men interested in forming D/s relationships but even for them it is probably a bit to generalized and dry.

Wow !!!! Not what I excepted.

Any additional comments?

I expected a story about a female headed household but the cover and title were literal. It was literally about bondage and s&m !!!!! Fun listen anyway.

Excellent informative source, but with a bias

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, if the whole couple is already engaged in a beginning D&S relationship.

However, if you are trying to find guidance as to how to introduce your relevant other into the D&S lifestyle, I don't think this book will go a long way as it implicitly assumes that both man and woman are already mentally invested in the D&S idea, and only trying to evolve in that path.

What other book might you compare At Her Feet to and why?

Elise Sutton's Female Domination is still the masterpiece of introducing Femdom to the a more general public, and deals with the more prevalent situation of when the male party needs to introduce the topic to his female partner.

Betty and Veronica share Archie, all's cool

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is a peek into a polyamory family, not a peep -- the way people live day to day without any "talkshow" flying monkey content. This book reminds me of books describing what gay people are really like, written by gay people back thirty years ago when the idea of mainstream acceptance was literally unthinkable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Descriptions of what the dominant and the submissive authors were like as children were both hysterically funny -- and touching. I was left with a real understanding of the continuity of both authors' lives.

What aspect of Mark Boyett and Isabella Gordon ’s performance would you have changed?

Their Dagwood and Blondie personas for this book fit in very well with the text.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This is a book that I read in short segments thinking about each one. For me it wasn't a treadmill book -- too many moments of laughing, stopping the machine.

Any additional comments?

Many many moments of "Huh. Good to know."

Not a story but a great guideline!

I was hoping for a storyline, but not much there. Yet, this is a great guideline for this type of lifestyle dynamic.

A bit boring

It's okay, but nothing you can't learn for free on the internet. Seemed receptive of most things.

boring

What would have made At Her Feet better?

This story drags on a lot.

Any additional comments?

This book was much more 101 about the general bdsm scene than I thought. I thought it was going to be a bit more 201 M/s. There's much better books already written on 101 BDSM, check those out instead.
