• 17: Self-Care and Following Through With Recommendations in Therapy
    Feb 23 2025

This week we're changing things up a bit. We're challenging each other to some self-care activities/ideas to implement so that we can really get into the barriers that clients face when this comes up in therapy. Lots of times we notice that clients don't follow through with their own, or collaborative, ideas or goals to care for themselves so here's to taking a closer look at why that might happen.

Plus, I (Kay) go down a rabbit hole (cue the ADHD brain) that might be very interesting to you. It definitely was for me. I have been so excited about learning this about myself and the way it's impacted my life. Seriously. This has changed so much for me. If you have ADHD you may be fascinated and want to do your own research.

As always, we are not doctors and we recommend you speak with your own doctor before starting any new medication or adjusting your exercise/nutrition significantly.

Episode 15: Where Have We Been?

It may seem like we fell off the face of the earth...but we're back! We both experienced a ton of professional (and personal) changes since our last episode dropped. But we were itching to get back to the pod, one of our favorite professional outlets. We also discuss some of our future plans for the content we want to cover this year and what you can look forward to.

The following books were mentioned in this episode:

Set Boundaries, Find Peace - Nedra Glover Tawwab

    Real Self-Care - Pooja Lakshmin

Also, (Kay here) if you are on board with a little book club action here on the pod, please let us know! You know I'm all in!

We share some tips on how to combat the challenges that come with the school year and possible resources that could be helpful as well. We hope you enjoy this episode!

It is important to note that this episode was recorded prior to the recent school shooting in Winder, GA on September 4. Therefore, we did not discuss this event in the episode, but we want to acknowledge it as well.

    Jul 28 2024

You asked, we listened! On this episode of the podcast, we discuss boundaries further: personal, professional, social, and family. We give some tangible takeaways you can start to implement in your own life in order to protect your peace. And for those looking for the quote I royally butchered at the end of the episode, here it is: "No is necessary magic. No draws a circle around you with chalk and says, 'I have given enough.'"
