About this listen

Nine years ago, July Weaver’s little sister was one of the first victims of the Pacific Lake Killer, a serial killer in Georgia. When other girls began to disappear and were found dead, it was July’s testimony that put her own father into prison for the crimes. After the sentencing, she fled to Nashville to focus on her music career and to try to forget the horrible past. But when her brother tries to kill himself, July is forced to come back home and reunite with her four remaining siblings.

What she isn’t expecting is to uncover new evidence that makes her question everything that happened to her sister nine years ago. Is it possible that July blamed the wrong person? Is it possible that the Pacific Lake Killer is still out there? As the linchpin to the case against her father—and the reason the Pacific Lake Killer case is closed—July knows it isn’t long before the killer will set their eyes back on her. If they’re really still out there...

A perfect read for spooky season!

No spoilers from me, but I’ll say this — what a fantastic, gripping read that I could not put down! This book is the perfect balance of spooky and psychological, but it’s not scary enough that I can’t read it before bed! Absolutely loved this read and can’t wait for more from this author!

The end ruined it

I liked the characters but the end didn’t match the rest of the book and ruined the story

Intriguing story and Great narration

This story had me wondering the entire time. Everyone was dysfunctional so anyone could have went off the deep end.
When July Weaver goes back home to help with her brother, she comes into a the past and all the baggage that entails. Namely the death of her younger sister and other girls in town, and her father being imprisoned for the murders for the last 9 years.

But more girls go missing, and weird clues keep popping up making July question if her father is truly guilty.

The narration of this book was A+! Andi Arndt can carry a whole book with a huge cast of characters without breaking a sweat. She's just phenomenal.

Great Audiobook

The narrator does a wonderful rendition of July and is easy to follow through the dual timelines.
