About this listen

King Alexander and his guildmates have expanded Elysia into a formidable kingdom. Their ongoing battle against the Dark One and the drow wizards is escalating. Alexander works to bring together the Elves, Dwarves, and Human Kingdoms to establish the alliance proposed by the Dragon King. But the dark magic of the drow has infiltrated even the highest offices, blocking his efforts.

War comes once again to the gates of the keep, and Alexander must find a way to defend his citizens before he can go on the offensive and take the fight to the stronghold of his enemies. All of Io, citizens and players alike, are pulled into war as the forces of darkness strive to destroy or enslave every surface city.

Olympus is still under siege, and the threat intensifies as doctors determine it's necessary to wake Jules from her months-long slumber. Jules and Alexander prepare to meet face to face for the first time, with a little help from their friends.

Join the Greystone Guild for this epic conclusion of a LitRPG tale of magic, monsters, wizards, and dragons.

Excellent story and conclusion!

This entire series has really been excellent, both with the writing and the Sound Booth actors!

I won't spoil anything and will just say that I enjoyed this book more than the last. While there are still dark moments, there is healing as well and even though there will still be challenges for the characters, it seems they will be better able to face them going forward.

The series wrapped up well, though I would be interested in a follow up book. :-D It could even be a new story arc about helping people with the immersion pods and the challenges that might entail.

Also, Go Rufus! He could have his own story. I mean, he's Fitz's familiar and has probably seen a lot of crazy things.

great conclusion! some strings still left untold?

Really enjoyed the final book in the series.

but there seemed to be some things forgotten.

such as
1. fibbles stat points?
2. the 13 stat points Alexander still has to use. (what if he places them into physical stats? could this increase his real life bodies abilities)
3. Alexanders legendary chest piece was intended to level up with him as stated in the first book. this was never mentioned again.
4. returning the head and heart to KY and liea?
5. Fibble has a bonded dragon... why does he need a tricycle mount?
6. fibbles special abilities from hermziez?
7. the methrill worms?
8. The guardian?
9. I suppose #3 #7 and #8 were just unnecessary side content for the other books or something...

Holy shit, Fitz!

The epic conclusion has arrived! So, one of my favorite litRPGs comes to a close. I love this story, it brings a smile to my face so many times while listening. The characters, the world-building, everything was excellent. The performance by Soundbooth Theatre was extraordinary. I must agree with others that the ending was rushed and quite anticlimactic. There are also many loose ends and questions left unanswered. All this time I never knew Fitz’s true background. I wondered if I had missed something all along or if this was a big reveal? What of the Dragon Empire, did they not have a battle as well? Ky and Lea, the baby dragons, Fibble and his bonded dragon, the Mithril worms, and the Guardian. There certainly seems to be enough material for another volume or the beginning of a new series. I look forward to seeing more from Dave Willmarth.

Good Fun if you can ignore the giant plot holes.

Enjoyed the book, and the series. I hope this isn't the final book though. There are way too many plot lines unresolved!

Homerun!

I was a little hesitant to listen to this series, as I'm enjoying apocalyptic LITRPG novels, such as Dave Willmarth's Shadow Sun books. I've done the VR/Pod books before and didn't think I'd want to listen to any for a while.

Having nothing that tempted Menon my Wish List, I checked other works by authors and narrators that I liked. Dave had used Jeff Hays on the Shadow Sun series and they crossed again in this series. I think Jeff is one of the best out there and is on par with Nick Podehl ... seemed like a worthy candidate, do I took a chance on the first book.

Five books and seven days later, I've just enjoyed a fabulous series - one that I don't want to be over. Jeff Hayes is once again superb ... and where the hell did Laurie Catherine Winkel come from? She's first class!! This combination is stronger than RC Bray and Julie Whelan.

I've got 6 favourite series ... and Dave Willmarth has two of them. The Greystone Chronicles are not to be missed!

Good book series if not a bit cheesy at times

I enjoyed the book, and definitely enjoyed the plot being someone who has a disability it was nice having a the protagonist who had a disability instead of the disabled person being the bitter and and angry bad guy mad at the world and take it out on everyone. It was a bit over the top cheesy at times, but nonetheless a good story over all. I was super bummed about the abrupt ending feeling like I need some more closure, but I overall enjoyed the book.

Just awesome!

I think this is my favorite Dave Willmarth series so far. I love the characters! They good guys are just good! The bad guys are really freaking horrible evil bastards who have just enough of a combo of ego and arrogance to be so incredibly believable! I want to play this game and hang out with the good guys in this story and that is all I’m gonna say! Go on and spend that credit already. This time it is totally worth it!

solid conclusion to a great stort

while I am unhappy to see this story ending, it was a great climax to Alex's story. Absolutely love the core 4, Jules, Lainey, Fibble, and the rest of the characters and adventurers. They all could inspire laughter and tears, so solid, believable cast
