Publisher's summary

Are they flirting or fighting? This is Joey Pigza's question when the fireworks suddenly start to explode between his long-separated mom and dad, whom he's never really had a chance to see together. The more out of control his parents get, the less in control Joey feels and the more he wants to help make things better. But Joey's ailing, tell-it-like-it-is grandmother wants her grandson to see it like it is with his unpredictable parents. Knowing that she is fading fast, she needs Joey to hurry up and show that he can break the Pigza family mold by making a friend in the outside world. The only potential candidate, however, is Olivia Lapp, Joey's blind home-schooling partner, who brags that she is "blind as a brat" and gets meaner to Joey the more desperate he gets for her friendship.

In this final book of the Joey Pigza trilogy, Jack Gantos' acclaimed hero is attempting a breathtaking balancing act as he tries to keep a handle on his wild, weird behavior without letting his hyperactively helpful ways spin him out of control all over again.

WWJD

I can't get over how much I enjoy listening to these books with my kids. Joey faces so much in his life. Themes of love, loss, grief and dysfunctional families are part of Joey's story this time. This kid sure needs a hug. His optimism holds strong and he keeps on doing things just the way Joey would.

Best in the Pigsa Series

Jack Gantos outdoes himself in this, the last of the Joey Pigsa trilogy. It provokes laughter and tears. I believe early middle schoolers to adults will cherish the antics and craziness of joey’s family and surroundings. I encourage everyone to read all the books in Gantos’s trilogy. You will not be disappointed.

Great series

I love this series. If you have read my other review, you know that I know someone named Tanner. Tanner was just like Joey, he had special needs and left our school to go to Colorado because of a, family emergency. I would recommend this book...no this whole series to Tanner and his family. I liked the uniqueness of this series. You could search half a library and not find another book about someone with special needs. Although I am sad that this is the last book, I can always read something else, right? Thank you for reading my review.
