About this listen

For years, the vampire family lived in the shadows, hidden by the night and people's disbelief; feeding on animals or throw away people who would never be missed. But as the family moves into an old theater, and uses it to cover up their crimes, the youngest of them are restless and determined to live as they like. Recklessly. Killing and feeding when and where they want. Feeding on who they want.

Only the parent vampires have managed to keep them in check. But no longer.

Unaware of the night stalking menace, the townspeople of Summer Haven, Florida, blithely go about their daily lives until, one by one, they begin to disappear. Screams are heard in the night. Fear grows. The lost are never found... alive.

But Jenny Lacey and her father, who are hired to renovate the old Grand Theater, can't escape when they find themselves caught up in the middle of the vampire's war. And, in the end, it's up to Jenny, her brother, Joey, and her ex-husband, Jeff (who she still loves and reconnects with in this audiobook… happy ending there), to get rid of the bloodthirsty fiends that are destroying their town… if they can.

Very well written and very frightening!

Where does Vampire Blood rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's one of the top ten. It really caught me by surprised. I love this author and this was definitely one of her best ones. Very scary, loved the characters, and very well written.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters were very likable, and the town was also very likable. I wanted to live there. The environment was so inviting and comfortable, but then people started disappearing and showing up dead, and then the action really started! The more that I think about it, I think it was the fact the author let me get comfortable first, then she ripped it away. Tricky move really.

Which character – as performed by K Orion Fray – was your favorite?

The main character. I'm a woman so I related to her the most.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Where did everyone go?

Any additional comments?

Just an excellent quality book

Vampire Blood

I enjoyed this book.It was full of interesting things and people.Vampires come to a town and people start to disappear and animals are slaughtered. When someone comes to town and re opens the long closed theater,Jenny and her dad are hired to help fix it up.Worst decision ever! K.Orion Fray is ok reading this book.I found her narration to be a bit stodgy and unemotional.I was provided this book by the author, narrator or publisher.

Overall it's a decent vampire story/series

I have had this book in my library forever for so long and many years and wanted to listen to it in full but the narration wasn't my favorite because it was not just the narrator but also the producers as well and I as m used to the very best. The kind where you hear no sounds no sighs, no nothing and the recording is usually perfect but this is definitely not like that but if you can get past those things then you might really enjoy the books and thos is book 1 of 2 since there is another book that follows this one. Overall I would say it's a decent listen. I am reviewing "Vampire Blood by Kathryn Meyer Griffith " book 1 of 2

Vampire lite

What disappointed you about Vampire Blood?

This book is a bit too slow for me and a bit too much of an easy package.
It would probably be ideal for teens who don't like too much horror in there vamp books

What was most disappointing about Kathryn Meyer Griffith’s story?

Last time I read the words puny human was when I was 7, reading a comic.
Also another part mentions if it wasn't for those meddling.....
Scooby doo anyone??

What didn’t you like about K. Orion Fray’s performance?

Didn't feel she brought the characters to life

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Vampire Blood?

Any that had the words puny humans in it

Any additional comments?

If your looking for I light read about vampires taking over a town.
And don't want to be bogged down with lots of blood then this could be ideal.
Although it's not my type of book it's a very easy listen, especially if your doing other things as you listen. The story is very slow to start and the characters backgrounds aren't very complicated.
Not my thing but I'm sure it will delight lots of young readers, as I didn't like twilight either.
