Story
As a professional thief, Esme Bellerose's daylong job interview was going well: She'd come through most of it with only a black eye, bloody lip, broken wrist, a few cracked ribs, and talon marks from a ruby-throated dragon - but at least she wasn't missing any pieces. And if she could only survive until the five o'clock hour, she'd land the job that was every mystic thief's dream: employment at SPL Inc. But the head of SPL, Elric Ostergaard, has other plans, and he's put one additional task on Esme's job application, which must be completed before he'll hire her.

Nice read
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend this to a friend if they enjoy just slightly scary paranormal mysteries.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Yes.
Any additional comments?
This was a good book. Parts of it kept me wanting to know what happened next, but not many. It is not a page turner.

Better than Abbey Cooper Series
I have listened to all of the Abbey Copper Series books. This series is very similar with the plot twists, the mystery and the general sixth sense laced throughout the book. There is humor and little bit of love story intertwined. If you liked Abbey Cooper you will like this book. This book left me intrigued to find out what could happen in the next book in the series. It was a "pageturner", I could not stop listening.

Cute, with annoying parts
The book was cute. I found it really annoying that the character Stephen was written to constantly use the wrong English terms, and MJ made a point of endlessly correcting him. It seemed very unrealistic and rude. I didn't find it funny at all, and was annoyed that it was such a focus of the book.

Quite Enjoyable
This was an enjoyable listen. The story was fun and fairly quick paced.
The main character does the stereotypical insane jealous female bit. It's suppose to be funny, and it is a little, but I find that sort of thing annoying. It's not too badly overdone so not a big detraction. It's used as a device to create conflict in the romantic sub-plot.
The murder of slang by a supporting character is adorable at first, but starts getting old. It never gets to the point of annoying, more just to the point of not as funny as it was.
The other supporting characters are quite enjoyable throughout. Gilly is absolutely adorable.
There are other bits that stand out as the physics or timeline being a bit questionable. Nothing glaring, and I found these bits to be easily overlooked. The predictable, unexpected, and 'expected but do not occur' events are balanced nicely.
I consider the time spent with this book time well spent. I didn't feel it was a "wow" book, but it was fun. It doesn't merit an immediate re-listen but I wouldn't rule out a re-listen in the future.
Overall, I would recommend this book. I plan on picking up more in the series.

A lot of potential for a good series!
What did you love best about What's a Ghoul to Do??
I enjoyed the characters and story line. I will order the next in the series. I think the reader was judged very harshly. The reader may not be the best but she did a decent job. I almost did not buy this one because of the reviews on the reader. Glad I purchased it.
