Grab your lace shawl and top hat and get ready to twirl—this is a full-throttle appreciation of the life and voice of Stevie Nicks from one of rock criticism’s most celebrated writers.

Best-selling author and Rolling Stone columnist Rob Sheffield explores the music and artistry of the rock goddess who has kept generations of music lovers totally bewitched and spellbound, with such classic rock hits as "Rhiannon" and "Gypsy." With Stevie Nicks’s 2019 solo induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the time is right to uncover the stories behind the songs you love. Learn about the people, places, and events that have influenced her work—and why Nicks’ music is as powerfully alluring today as it was when you first heard it decades ago.

Drawing from Rolling Stone magazine’s extensive archives, and his long time appreciation of Nicks, Sheffield shares the stories behind the best-selling records and the spitfire 1997 Fleetwood Mac reunion show that put the band back on top of the charts—and why Stevie Nicks still speaks to us today. A dynamic, revelatory sketch of the one-of-a-kind icon, The Wild Heart of Stevie Nicks is a portrait as revealing as it is dazzling, as human as it is pure magic

Came across this on one of the free audible month choices and being a fan of Stevie Nicks, I definitely had to give this a listen.
This is an inside look into Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. It was an interesting take of her background. Although I never really believe everything I read or hear from books, news, etc. on artists, etc., unless it comes straight from their mouths, I did enjoy this author's take on her life and career.
I always find when musicians share their background giving a real look into how they got to where they are now and getting through their struggles. It gives realism and it shows not just the highs, but the lows as well.
Nice audiobook.

Great listen

Good book for people who don't know anything about Stevie Nicks. But for her fans who've followed her, since the 70's, nothing new here.

Good book for people who don't know about Stevie.

The lady is difficult to not adore. What a trailblazer. It's nice to hear from where she was coming from when she wrote the most memorable songs

Whether you are a fan of Fleetwood Mac or Stevie Nicks as a solo artist/songwriter this book is one that you must hear. It is brief and there could be a lot more detail but for a good overview of her career, this is excellent.

Brief but satisfying bio of Stevie Nicks

Rob Sheffield tells you upfront that he is a fanboy extraordinaire when it comes to Stevie Nicks. This book is a really fun listen because of that fact. He doesn’t hide his excitement or joy regarding one of his self-professed favorite topics… Stevie Nicks (and Fleetwood Mac).

I didn’t know who the author was when listening to him read his writing. So I did not realize his background and how much writing/journalism he’s done about music in general-this helps explain his very eclectic tastes And references to bands, musicians, songs that I have limited or no knowledge of. But this book makes me want to read or listen to more of his material. I may have enjoyed reading this book more than listening to it just for the number of puns and other wordplays related to songs written by Stevie Nicks. There are nonstop references to songs and song lyrics which some readers or listeners may find annoying. However I thought the author created a fun element for this story arc and only a few times did those references seem forced. I think listeners will get the most enjoyment out of this book if they keep in mind the author is a big fan and loves to talk about the nuances of the life and times of Stevie Nicks.

This book definitely helped me see through what was the Stevie Nicks of the 90s -drugged up and loopy like Ozzie Osborne. I’m very happy for her that she took more control over her drug problems as well as rehab. It sounds like if she had not she wouldn’t be alive today. The story also explains why she is so popular as a singer songwriter- including how she got into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame as part of Fleetwood Mac as well as a solo artist. I’ve become much more aware of her and Fleetwood Mac over the last 10 years listening to their music quite a bit. I think I’ll enjoy the songs even more knowing that she is such a prolific writer of music and is a much deeper person than what myself and others probably give her credit for.

If I could have heard the music at the same time would have been awesome!😂

Wild brilliant heart!

I liked it overall but wanted a little more on Stevie. I’d like to hear from others that worked with her. It was fun but some musical clips of the songs referenced would have helped. I found myself stopping and going to listen to referenced clips from the songs.

Another great read... informative and a fun music bio - my only complaint is he got a little "fan-boy"ish in spots and went around in circles. It inspired me to seek out some Stevie tunes I'd never heard and that's something I love about Sheffield.

Another fun read from Rob Sheffield
