About this listen

The past few years have been a mixture of torture, painful growth and sometimes, pushing its way through all the darkness - joy. I have made friends and allies, brothers and sisters, mentors and... Kainda, who is something else entirely. But someone is missing, someone whose memory saved me from despair - Mirabelle Whitney, my hope. So while the human race prepares to defend itself, I ride toward the encroaching Nephilim army intending to save Mira, return to our feeble base and lead the charge against those who plan to wipe the human race from the face of the Earth.

It sounds like an impossible plan, and maybe it is, but if we're going to die, we're going to die like hunters - boldly and bravely. More than that, we're going to die together, as a united race facing a common enemy. Nationality no longer matters. Ancient grudges are forgotten. The human race must resist as one, or face extinction. And now it falls to me, along with Kainda, Em, Mira, Kat, Merrill, Aimee and Luca, to light the path for humanity in our darkest hour. Harnessing the power of the ancient Jericho shofar, we must prevent Nephil, the most ancient and evil of the Nephilim from possessing my body and using its supernatural abilities against mankind.

The odds are stacked against victory. The Nephilim out-size, out-power and outnumber us ten to one, but we will fight to the last, the very last, so help me God.

I am Solomon Ull Vincent - the Last Hunter and King of Antarktos - and I am prepared to face my fate.

Wonderful Adventure

I listened to all five books, one right after the other. It took me a couple weeks as I listen while I'm driving. Towards the end I would listen at home, when I walked, and when I jogged. I was simply unable to stop. I would dream about the wonderful world of Antarktos. The reader truly brings the book to life. I could see the lush scenery in my mind that was described in beautiful detail. The characters come alive. You truly care for them. Although a fantasy, I felt that it really could happen. There was never a dull moment in any of the five books. I also appreciated that it was appropriate for children. I plan on sharing this series with my girls on an upcoming road trip. Although the main character is a boy there are certainly many female characters that they would identify with.
All in all it was the best series I've read in a long, long time.

A great adventure

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. So many great adventures and characters that were so skillfully brought to life. I know this was a great series because when I finished listening to it I wanted to go back to the first book and go for this incredible ride once again.

A war to end all wars, family and friendship brought together. Who could ask for more. A fantastic end to a great series.

R.C.Bray was on great form throughout the whole series, he was Solomon.

This is the best book of the series!

I have very much enjoyed all of the books in this series but I truthfully gave 4 stars (still pretty good!) to the first couple or three. Still, I couldn't stop listening and I am glad that I continued.

This is the best book yet! The climactic battle will have you on the edge of your seat and is as good a listen as I have had from my favorite authors like Vince Flynn, Michael J. Sullivan, Robin Hobb or Daniel Silva.

The reader is so good at rendering the voices of men and women alike, and giants and malevolent monsters as well. You are never in doubt as to which character is talking. And he uses pacing and dynamics to great effect during the reading.

I wasn't sure about this series when I started it. I got it on sale. But I am very glad that I did since I have found another author that I really like. And I couldn't stop until I had read the entire series!

One of the best reads

Good plot, character development, flow, and narration. The story was eloquently delivered to the point that carries the audience through the entire journey with anticipation.
