About this listen

In the heart of the wilderness, a ravenous hunger lurks....

After a narrow escape from Tumbling Rapids, Kay and his mentor, Eleniah, embark on an exhilarating journey into the unknown. Eleniah has grand designs for her new protégé and plans to mold him into a force of nature, capable of withstanding whatever the world can throw at him. And her chosen classroom? A monster-infested stretch of wilderness, where no one would be stupid—or crazy—enough to venture.

But when a motley crew of refugees and adventurers unexpectedly intrudes upon their solitude, Kay's training takes an unforeseen twist. Leadership is suddenly thrust upon him and, like it or not, he now has an entire settlement to look after.

Juggling his new responsibilities while simultaneously advancing his classes and skills should be challenge enough, but unfortunately there's a far more ominous threat lurking beneath the surface of their new home. Something hungry. Something vicious. Something bloodthirsty. And Key’s idyllic little hamlet looks like the perfect meal....

The MC continues to grow in power, and we get to see more of the world. We also get to see fun new enemies he has to contend with. Enjoyable listen. :)

Solid Sequel With Good World Building

Overall the story is good and it explores the system in a different way than most system based stories. I did find it odd our MC is from Earth, but not our version. Not a negative just weird. I am getting annoyed with are they just friends or are they going to be more between MC and his teacher.

Bloody good time

3 main things. 1 like the settlement building aspect. 2 I like the combat think it needs a bit more. 3 gotta throw in political ideas from the real world, not gonna lie, it doesn't really feel like a step into a fantasy world if politics gets thrown in although it did a good job of keeping most of that out, not a negative just please don't turn a good series into politics in next books. if I wanted that I'd read drama. overall i like the book alot.

This book was such a great sequel. We get to see the MC develop a settlement and defeat and Eldritch God. You find out the system has administrators so the MC was correct in his assumptions. The new Oracle is nice. Can't wait for the next book. ERROR ERROR ERROR

There were some things that I really liked, a new town building element, and things that I didn’t like, the delving into the inner working of the system. I enjoyed the story but I have concerns that the main plot is heading towards origins and inner workings of the system. The character advancement was cool. We even get a lot of new characters with the town building. The narration was well done.

Good sequel

This book will draw you in so quickly that you feel like you're right there in the middle of the town. The MC and his teacher have accomplished so much and now it's time to build the town. Slowly at first but enough to draw people in that will help you grow and improve. The story continues and I'm loving every minute of it.

I really enjoy the characters as well as the system of the world. the system is light enough to be flexible and not bog the story down by rules and numbers but with enough firmness to have laws.
the characters growth are so far subtly but there.

I will admit though few things closer to the end had me slightly worried until it was stated K is not the only one with said ability something I am trying not to spoil.
I do hope though well the system gets explored it does not bog down the story. beyond that I'm excited for more.

This was a great second installment of the series! Love it how it match up city building and the training montage that it just flowed together, nice work. Hope to see more in the future and can’t wait for the next book!
