About this listen

FBI Special Agent Jackson Crowne is flying his Cessna over the Appalachians with a very important passenger: renowned psychiatrist Dr. Timothy MacLean. Their destination is Washington, D.C. Upon their arrival, the FBI will protect the doctor - and ascertain just who wants him dead.

But they don't make it.

In San Francisco, married FBI Special Agents Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock take an early-morning phone call from their supervisor, Jimmy Maitland. Maitland received a Mayday from Jack in the mountains near Parlow, Kentucky, and sends Savich and Sherlock to see what's happened.

Agent Crowne is able to bring his plane down in a narrow valley and haul the unconscious Dr. MacLean from the burning wreckage before it explodes. Their crash is witnessed by Rachael Abbott, a young woman on the run after the mysterious death of her father. When Savich and Sherlock arrive on the scene, they find Jack and Rachael in the Parlow clinic and Dr. MacLean comatose in the local hospital, prognosis unknown.

What they do know frightens them: Dr. MacLean was recently diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia, and in the months prior to the crash, his behavior had become erratic and alarmingly uninhibited, his ability to maintain doctor-patient confidentiality badly compromised. With a patient list made up of Washington movers and shakers, MacLean's role as a keeper of secrets is jeopardized as well.

Is there someone out there so desperate that they'd kill the doctor for what he knows? It is up to Jack, Savich, and Sherlock to find out - no matter the cost.

Entertaining!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I really enjoyed this book. There are enough twists and turns to keep it interesting! It is nice to have more than one hero too!

Excellent Book

I really enjoyed this book. It has been action-filled, suspenseful and just a really great book to listen to. I absolutely LOVE that there is a male and a female narrator. It really helps the characters to come alive!

could not put down

Catherine Coulter has a way of keeping you interested. Once I got past the first 3 chapters I couldn't put it down, I had to read to the end. This FBI Thriller Series is one of the best I have read. The way she brings characters in from one book to the other is great.

Great read

I have been reading Kathleen culture books since the 90s. I love the FBI series and glad I got to reread this book. I only wish there were more romantic scenes between Jack and RACHEL. However, it was still a great book and would read again and heartbeat.

Enjoyed

I do enjoy all the action in a Catherine Coulter book. Never a dull moment, can't put it down, or in this case, turn it off. I loved the dual narration. Good job all!

Tailspin

This was a revisit for me in audio form and it was just as good or better this time. There are two distinct stories going on and they are both fast paced and compelling. A young woman is drugged and thrown into a body of water to drown but she saves herself and while fleeing she witnesses a plane crash. That crash is piloted by an FBI agent who is flying a doctor to safety who has a neurological condition that has him blurting out his patients secrets. Now these two stories are intertwined and Savich and Sherlock are brought in to help figure out and save the day. Fast paced and so many moving parts and characters. Try to keep up!

The storyline is weak but still a good read.

What made the experience of listening to TailSpin the most enjoyable?

The story moved along enough to keep you entertained.

If you’ve listened to books by Catherine Coulter before, how does this one compare?

I would say this is an average book for Coulter. I've read better and worse (Aftershock).

Have you listened to any of Joyce Bean and Paul Costanzo ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

At least in this book Paul Costanzo pronounces the character's names correctly.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not have an extreme reaction to this book.
