About this listen

"You owe it to yourself to experience this audio odyssey birthed in the fertile mind of Stan Lee as he propels the listener into a digital sidereal of past, present and future.” (Roy Thomas)

A brand-new audio event set in the Audible and New York Times best-selling Alliances universe of legendary creator Stan Lee, performed by fan favorite Wil Wheaton.

Biohacker Olivia Park is obsessed with an emerging mystery within Oz, the online portal created by alien technology. What she finds is a primitive xenobot, Eno, who takes her on a mind-bending trip through time that begins as the Berlin Wall is falling, and takes her back to the origins of the modern internet and the fall of a digital Atlantis created by her father, Wesley Park, and entrepreneur William Ackerson.

A New Reality expands Stan Lee’s final science fiction universe in new and unexpected ways, exploring the early global computing boom of the 1990s through the eyes of two well-meaning visionaries whose innovations introduce the world to the promise, power, and perils of connectivity - and whose original sins could destroy it all.

okay.

Pros:
Free
Wil Wheaton - This was best part

Cons:
Whole thing is just.a prequel to the 1st, non-free Audiobook
The Fathers names both begin with W - Makes it hard to follow. Wesley is Olivia's father - You'll want to remember that.

The story is worth the mental anguish of listening to Wil Wheaton read it. no matter how I adjusted the speed he speed through things, enunciated words word and any word with an "O" in it he literally oooooo'd it very nasally

No balance

This book is okay except for it spends way too much time on explaining how the characters feel or their thoughts compared to the moments of what is happening at that point. A good book or a great book has balance. Listening to it, you can easily get lost in the inner monologue.

Disappointed with the lack of originality

Expected better. I stopped after a few chapters because it's copies ideas from
Ready Player One, which wasn't that great to begin with.

Great storytelling!

Skillfully crafted story, good narration, and excellent execution of the whole thing. It started off a bit slowly, but the plot came together in a fresh way. Highly recommend!
