About this listen

My name is John Cook, and my life began the day my heart stopped beating.

King Oberon is betrayed by the Queens of Faerie and imprisoned in Mab’s dungeon.

Give a man no way out, and eventually, no price is too high for revenge. That stands doubly true for a king. Nobody puts Obee in a corner...cell. So, the raging king forms a malevolent alliance, letting everyone know that if he can’t wear the crown....

No one will. The world be damned.

Meanwhile, the Shadow Court has sent their deadliest assassin to execute John by any means necessary - with the intent of smothering all of creation in absolute blackness. And there is some featureless, creepy black cat seeming to stalk our friendly neighborhood vampire. Aren’t they bad luck?

With the fate of the entire universe on the line, will John have the strength to withstand the darkest collective forces of the known and unknown universe? Can he scale that figurative mountain? Or will crippling self-doubt weaken his grip and send him plummeting down into a trench of endless agony and overwhelming despair?

Oh, and John gets a shiny new hammer and a snazzy suit. Except it might be more of a curse than a blessing. Because he’s pretty sure it’s trying to take control of his body and mind....

And a vampire out of control can turn city streets into rivers of blood.

Another Roudy book in the Series

I enjoy John, but sometimes like with his friends I get a bit tired of his wit. This was a very active adventure in his undead life. Really liked that he finally got into Shape near the end, now he actually does have a ripped body and good physique.

John's trip to fairy

Well boys it’s time to save the world. After the dark fae takes over fairy, they then turn to take over earth. John rises to the challenge with all the sarcasm, humor, and movie quips that are typical of him. After being in fairy for a few hours, John return 10 years later earth time. Much has changed and a few friends die. John suffers betrayal from a close friend. He spends 6 months in fairy and only 3 years have passed. There is no explanation given for the difference in time. PS, predatory self, gets a new name. John never knew that food could taste so good. The story delivers all the action that you expect from the series. It ends with a cliff hanger.

Interesting fact. Hunter Blain, the author, had a very good childhood friend named John. John requested that Hunter write him as one of the characters. John die leaving friends, Nathaniel, Valenta, and Depweg. They each knew what type of character they want to play. John the vampire is model after his friend John. This information about the friends can be found in the Kindle edition of the book.

Jam Packed with Bad Assness

My favorite one yet. Action packed, edge of your seat, hilarious insanity that I can’t get enough of. So much depth and personal growth and FULL of surprises. Praise for Hunter and Luke, as usual. This series is epic great fun, a must read! -Katy L

Best of the 3

Initially...when I was reading the first book, my mind kept repeating "what an annoying asshole". Didn't think I would finish the series but thankfully, the story became more robust and enthralling.

Love Luke Daniels narrations and this series showed his true range of characters. DA...RIP.

These guys are a crazy awesome combo!

Hunter Blaine and Luke Daniels do another great performance in this book! They take a Van Hellsing type hero who is a vampire possessed by Deadpool story and bring it to life. Funny entertaining with a little bit of sad tragedy to make a well-rounded character. I loved every minute!
