About this listen
Someone is assassinating CIA field officers and Jake Keller's name is next on the list in the latest thrilling novel from the author Publishers Weekly calls "a fresh voice in the crowded spy thriller field".
Jake doesn't know who is trying to kill him, and he doesn't know why. Still, it's a threat he can't ignore.
When his small plane crashes in the Alps, Jake is the only survivor. A rescue helicopter soon arrives, but the men inside are not there to save anyone. They are determined to complete the murderous job they started.
Jake escapes from the mountainside deathtrap, but it won't be the only attempt on his life. If he's to have any chance at surviving, he'll have to find out who's behind the killings. But the circle of people Jake can trust is distressingly small as he suspects that someone inside the Agency is feeding his every move to the very people who are trying to end his life.
Jake's quest takes him to the candle-lit cathedrals of Paris and the rain-slicked streets of London. He makes contact with old friends and new enemies along the way - but his true nemesis may be closer than he imagines.

In a riveting debut thriller that has drawn comparisons to masters of the genre like Dennis Lehane and Michael Connelly, Brian Freeman weaves obsession, sex, and revenge into a story that grips the reader with vivid characters and shocking plot twists from the first minute to the last.

Review of the Speaker
what I like was the tone of voice change at the situation changed. the speaker knew when to be light-hearted and other times when the sound more serious with each chapter. Overalla great job by the speaker on a wonderful novel.

Best one yet!!!!
Excellent new addition to the Jake Keller series by David Ricciardi. This is book four and I am so surprised there aren’t at least any ratings. This might be the best in the series so far.
From word one this story takes off on a fast pace that doesn’t seem to let up. Some one is trying to kill Jake and he has no clue why. At first his superiors think he’s loosing it and refuse his requests for assistance. He ends up enlisting help from old friends in the UK and France. This is a shock to them because his looks have been altered and they believe he’s been dead for two years.
Jonathan Davis does a great job narrating.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Best of the series so far!
This book clearly shows Ricciardi’s evolution, as the depth and features of the characters really come to life. While the suspense and storyline is captivating as usual, seeing the human side makes me want to see what comes next. Gotta love Ted Graves….when do we find out his true nature.

For Fans of Jonathan Davis
See Shelly’s review. Publisher summery spot on so no need to add to it. This author is not for me, unless Mr Davis is narrates it.
This author doesn’t compel me to go looking for his other works not narrated by Mr Davis. I have all 4 books and they are good as Mr Davis brings them to enjoyable life.
See Sandra Brown’s Mean Streak, my most fave from Mr. Davis when I discovered him. All of his Latino narrations are wonderful as he slips into Spanish so fluidly.

Tedious
All the self reflection and self pity about being an orphan is distracting. Understandable in book 1 and 2, but with book 3 and 4, it doesn’t make sense

The narrator saves the series
The main character in this book is hardly recognizable as he was in his first. It would be understandable if it was because of a progression but instead the writer seemingly wants to cherry pick attributes depending on the situation. I find it harder to root for the hero because you can’t be sure who he actually is
