About this listen

A former Delta Force commander, Brad Taylor proves with this breathtaking debut thriller that Vince Flynn and Brad Thor have company.

A collection of top operatives, the Taskforce was commissioned by the highest levels of government, kept secret from the media and even Congress. The best of the Taskforce bunch, Pike Logan, knows the greatest threat to American security is one or two idealogues. Unfortunately for them, they’ve just crossed Pike’s path.

story was slow and reading was nails on chalkboard

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

not sure i would recommend this book to a friend... there are better reads/listens out there. the story was slow but finished okay- but the story was ruined with the readers. it got on my nerves and stayed there.

What didn’t you like about J. D. Jackson and Neil Kaplan ’s performance?

the mock womens voices were HORRIBLE and added a note of weakness to every word the author wrote. i will not listen to another word the author wrote from these readers. i knew george g. was a good reader or armand s. but did not realize that if they were horrible i would not want to read/listen to a story ever again...

Was One Rough Man worth the listening time?

concept of the story was there but the over all effect of the listen was ruined.

Any additional comments?

sorry to the author. i think you have tallent but by allowing these readers access to your material you are doing yourself a great injustice.

Amazing, can't wait for the next one!

Great new author! Brad Taylor will be as good as Thor, Child, Baldacci, Flynn & Eisler.
This was a great read. Give us more Pike, please.

Good enough.

Would be a fun movie to watch. I like the showdown near the end.

Good story but narration wasn't good

The story was compelling but the narrator wasn't very good. Glad I stuck with it because there are different narrators for the rest of the books in the series.

The story kept me tuned in

What did you like best about One Rough Man? What did you like least?

Thank goodness I gave the story some time to develop because with that narration, I was ready to chuck this book within minutes. Man, that was painful to listen to.

What did you like best about this story?

Self-redemption

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of J. D. Jackson and Neil Kaplan ?

I'm partial to George Guidall, but it gets tough hearing the same voice across multiple authors/characters. However, my eight year old son could have done better and he has a tutor.

Any additional comments?

Like a few others, I'm looking for a new author. Several reviews have indicated the series gets better, so I'm going to try one more Brad Taylor book with different narration.

Better than excepted

As with most books I got this one on sale. Always a hit and miss proposition. I was pleasantly surprised. The story has some 'oh come on' moments where suspension of disbelief is high but I found myself drawn into the story regardless. There are actually two male narrators. One handles all but the lead character Pike. Some level of cliche going on but a good yarn with a few sweet twists. I also appreciate the lack of stupid love interest stuff (sorry for the spoiler) but I get annoyed at stories that plunge into that territory for the sake of titilating readers. It wasn't necessary for this story and I'm glad the author avoided it.

better than expected

Really good fun story to listen to. narrators were very good for this story. lot of action, almost non stop. And lot of treacherous bad guys. Getting book 2 started next.

Very engaging

Simply said, after a slow start this was a very engaging listen. I didn't want it to end. Highly recommended
