Publisher's summary

A LitRPG fantasy adventure.

Yynnc can barely recognize himself at times. Until very recently, he was living a relatively peaceful life in his kobold warren. Then destroyers came and ripped that life apart, and he's been running ever since.

Having gotten clear of the country determined to exterminate his kind, Yynnc sets his sights on creating a new life for himself in the magnificent city of Grayshoal. While there are dangers, opportunities abound for a kobold trying to carve out a new and exciting life for himself.

The problem is that trouble is determined to find him in return. Whether by happenstance or from his own insatiable curiosity, it seems wherever he sticks his nose in, all he finds is a nest of hornets. He soon finds himself entangled in matters he probably should have left alone. Now, all that remains is to push himself to his limits...and beyond if he is going to live through it all.

But he is a survivor. It's in his blood. Whatever happens, he will adapt, grow stronger, and if at all possible...enjoy himself on the ride.

Caution from the Author
This book contains content that might be seen as sensitive to some! It is written from the POV of a kobold, whose values and judgment calls are going to be different. The novel includes violence, some disturbing/horror imagery, topics that some may find emotionally sensitive, and also vivid erotic content: none of it for the faint of heart! Intended for adult audiences only!

Better

Had less of the tedious and chunky stats within the story, but I do miss the pov shifts.

What the f*** this shit was deep

This story is tragic AF. I mean really it’s good but tragic. And well worth the listen.

Masterful -- one of the top ten litRPG books

I've gone through hundreds of litRPG books. This one here, a kobold in a city, is one of the best.

First off, kobolds aren't treated well in cities. Not many of them and they aren't trusted. At one point, he meets with a diviner mage about a matter. The mage has an opinion on it. "This does not matter to me at all." So, it's a low-power character in a low-stakes plot, but it means a lot to him. The main character is in near-constant danger as the plot unfolds more and more.

Smart villains, a smarter hero, lots of action, ingenious use of litrpg elements. Highly recommended.
