Publisher's summary

Once feared as the Dark Lord, I now seek a fresh start as a humble farmer.

Isekaied into a level 86 Necromancer-King's body, I leave his life of war behind in favor of peace in the idyllic Borderlands. Upon meeting the elven maiden Narya Summerdew and a razor-toothed half-elven child, the three of us form an unlikely improvised family in the hopes of remaining anonymous.

As we embrace the eccentric community of Gelderham, we find happiness in simplicity…But my past casts shadows on our growing bonds. How will Narya react when she learns her new husband was once the evil king set on destroying her people?

In this heartwarming tale of farms, villages, side quests, and level progression, unexpected bonds help a trio of charming characters learn the importance of love and family as secrets are unveiled and hearts are healed.

Dark Lord of the Farmstead is a cozy slice-of-life LitRPG. Enjoy a wholesome story fit for people who enjoy slow life fantasies with lower-than-average stakes and fun but flawed characters that you can’t help but fall in love with.

Very fun and relaxing book.

This is mainly a romance novel. It is a good listen. The climax of the book is meh/mid. I really enjoyed it regardless.

Not bad at all.

Not deep and or moving, but a light easy listen. Not too light and with just the right amount of slice of life in a fantasy world. I'd listen to a sequel.

fantastic end

The end is fantastic as a standalone but knowing that there is a second story coming makes it even better.
the last couple of chapters were phenomenal and really tugged well at the heartstrings.
both voice actors were phenomenal. I cannot wait for more from them.

A fun, easy going story.

This was a nice surprise. I sometimes need something a little lighter in the drama department to cleanse the proverbial palette, and this really fit the bill. It was thoroughly enjoyable with some good laughs and great characters. I will definitely be looking for more from this author!

An amazing slice of life high fantasy LitRPG!

John Broadway spins a whimsical web of a reformed Dark Lord trading in doom and gloom for crops and companionship. An absolutely amazing slice of life high fantasy LitRPG. I loved every character and the overall storyline. Narrators Jonathan Waters and Jessica Threet breathe life into the endearing cast, making this fantastical farmstead journey a must-listen for anyone seeking a break from epic battles. Let the harvest of laughter and growth begin!

The dark lord of growing things.

I love these transported into another's body stories.
Grey gets killed on earth and gets sent into the dark king's body. He then escapes and is on the run from his subjects and generals.
He finds a gorgeous elf woman, and they pretend to be married . After finding a young half elf girl, they come to a town and pretend to be a farming family.
From that point on, the story basically becomes a slice-of-life LitRPG.
Excellent writing and narration.
I was gifted this book with the expectation of an honest review.
I truly enjoyed this non spicy story.
I give it 8 out of 5 stars.

Better than most

Slice of life isn't what I usually enjoy but this wasn't bad at all, I really enjoyed it and didn't feel like I had to endure any parts that were unenjoyable. for it's genre I'd give it a solid 10/10.
