About this listen

The hunt for a trove of secret information forces Bourne to decide who lives–and who dies–in this latest installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

A hacked database known as the Files has upended the intelligence community. Careers are being destroyed. Dirty deals are showing up on the front page. Assassinations are spreading from Europe to the U.S.

The new head of Treadstone sends Jason Bourne on a mission to find out who has the Files and get them back–or destroy them. But Bourne isn’t alone in this race. The Chinese want the Files. So do the Russians. And the only woman who may be able to help him is a treacherous spy known as Johanna–Bourne’s former lover–who sees the Files as the key to her own vendetta against Treadstone.

Bourne has a rule for friends and enemies alike: Trust no one. That rule may be the only thing keeping him alive, because the hunt for the Files soon takes Bourne inside a twisted labyrinth of murder and betrayal, where everyone has a hidden agenda.

Including Bourne himself.

Started off pretty bad

Started off bad but as the story grows it gets much better. Shadow is someone I want to read more about, she needed a bigger role and it seems that’s the direction the next book might go.

Winner

Brian Freeman again writes an exciting continuation of the Bourne story and Scott Brick’s narration helps bring it alive. Add the romance storyline and you have a winner!

I am hooked on Brian Freeman’s Jason Bourne’s stories

If you like the way that Brian Freeman. Tell the story of Jason Bourne and Scott Beck’s narration of the character you’re gonna love this book. I liked it a lot. I think you will too. In fact I know you will can’t wait for the next one.

it's a romance novel

Sure, there's lots of action and impossible escapes and interesting battles and exotic settings . . . but much of that is laughably impossible, though the hero often loses (yet somehow emerges victorious), but all in all, it's a romance novel, with multiple beautiful women all in love (or maybe not) with the hero who is in love with all of them (or maybe not), or else they're planning to murder him (or maybe not).

Enough of these things. On to something better. I'm disappointed in the ghost writer, who is capable of so much more.

Not the Jason Bourne books I loved

Vulger, dull with horrible overdramatic narration. I am actually returning it as I just can't listen to it anymore.

bad

wow, this book is bad. second Freeman Bourne book that has been offensive and silly. not buying anymore. nothing like Ludlum and other top tier espionage authors. i was hoping it would be good. wish i had not wasted a credit for such an awful story.
