About this listen
Two Epic Storytellers and a Clash of Ancient Cultures
A novel of spiritual warfare, dragons, the first Chinese emperor, the Great Wall of China and the tower of Babel.
Brian Godawa, best-selling author of ancient historical fantasy, teams up with Charlie Wen, co-founder/Head of Visual Development for Marvel Studios, to tell a fantasy action-adventure romance rooted in the ancient history of China and the Bible.
East Eats West
It’s 220 BC. The ancient Western Empire is crumbling.
In a desperate bid to save his throne, the Greek king over Babylon sends his son, Antiochus, a dishonored warrior, into the mysterious land of the Far East to capture a mythical creature that will give him absolute power: a dragon.
What Antiochus finds is beyond his imagination: A mad emperor on a quest of immortality, a beautiful concubine with whom he falls in love, a mysterious power of magic and technology, and the true nature of the dragon that protects this world.
The Dragon King is the first novel of the historical fantasy series, Chronicles of the Watchers that charts the influence of spiritual powers behind the history of earthly rulers.

What does the Bible really say about the end times? There are so many Christians teaching outrageous speculation about end times Bible prophecy these days. It's enough to frustrate the serious Bible student. What if you found out most of it is simply mistaken? What if you found out that the ancient Jewish writers were using Old Testament imagery of the past, not a crystal ball gaze into our modern future?

Do you watch movies with your eyes open? You buy your tickets and concessions, and you walk into the theater. Celluloid images flash at 24 frames per second, and the hypnotic sequence of moving pictures coaxes you to suspend disbelief and be entertained by the implausible. Unfortunately, many often suspend their beliefs as well, succumbing to subtle lessons in how to behave, think, and even perceive reality.

Story
The Third Heaven: The Rise of Fallen Stars is book one of a three part series that tells of the fascinating story of the fall of Lucifer. Lucifer, God's perfect creation and who dwelt in his very presence, walked in the midst of the stones of fire. Yet rose up to betray the Lord and bring Heaven itself to civil war. Many tales have referenced this great angelic war but few have sought to explore the dynamic relationships between God and the angelic hosts. Why did a third of heaven seek to overthrow their creator?

Story
Fel'annár is a gifted immortal warrior embarking on his first patrol into the Deep Forest. Half-Silvan, half-Alpine, he battles the enemy from without, and the prejudice from within. But he learns more than just warfare when an arcane power begins to emerge, one he cannot control. While friendships are forged, a destiny unfolds, one that is tied to a past he knows nothing about. For others, though, it is only a matter of time before the truth is revealed, and the danger becomes real.

Story
When Michael Moorcock began chronicling the adventures of the albino sorcerer Elric, last king of decadent Melniboné, and his sentient vampiric sword, Stormbringer, he set out to create a new kind of fantasy adventure, one that broke with tradition and reflected a more up-to-date sophistication of theme and style. The result was a bold and unique hero: a rock-and-roll antihero who would channel all the violent excesses of the '60s into one enduring archetype.

Story
The story of the Ramayana had been told innumerable times. The enthralling story of Rama, the incarnation of God, who slew Ravana, the evil demon of darkness, is known to every Indian. And in the pages of history, as always, it is the version told by the victors that lives on. The voice of the vanquished remains lost in silence. But what if Ravana and his people had a different story to tell? The story of the Ravanayana had never been told. Asura is the epic tale of the vanquished Asura people, a story that has been cherished by the oppressed outcastes of India for 3,000 years.

Update: the audible book read by the author is awesome. His dramatic reading of his books adds to the story.
If you’ve never read any of Brian Godawa’s books start with these. Jezebel: Harlot Queen of Israel: Chronicles of the Watchers, Book 1 and Qin: Dragon Emperor of China (Chronicles of the Watchers Book 2). As much as I love all of his other books with these two in the new series he is at the top of his game. If you were a fan and have not read them they are awesome. If your new to Brian Godawa get ready. I am at 21 books and counting.

Amazing!
You'll be inspired and entranced by this book. It was truly a great experience listening to Brian. It takes me back to the narrations he has done with his Chronicles of the Nephilim. I will be recommending you to reading this over some of his past books first. You won't regret it.

Amazing
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The complex and exciting action. Performace has vitality and thrust. The Dragan King gives to me a deep appreciation of a time far from us yet, it shows the continuing human struggle which is timeless.
What other book might you compare The Dragon King: First Emperor of China to and why?
The extensive knowledge of the time. Vivid.
Have you listened to any of Brian Godawa’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Consistently energetic.
If you could rename The Dragon King: First Emperor of China, what would you call it?
Good name!
Any additional comments?
I what more!
