Acerca de esta escucha

A game of Gods. A clash of Titans.

Ancient Israel thought she was bringing unity, progress, and change. She brought Baal, the storm god of Canaan.

870 BC. Israel. Beautiful Jezebel of Tyre marries King Ahab of Israel to bring peace in a time of war. But, when Jezebel builds a temple of Baal in the heart of Israel, the “mad prophet” Elijah challenges her to a duel of deities.

In the supernatural realm, spiritual warfare breaks out as the demonic Canaanite Watchers led by Baal battle to take the land back from the Archangels who protect the remnant of Israel.

And so begins the war of gods and men.

Join the battle in this heart-racing epic story of supernatural conflict, action, and love based on the Bible and ancient historical research by a respected Christian author.

This is a story in a spin-off series to Chronicles of the Nephilim. What if the pagan gods of the nations were fallen angelic Watchers from God’s throne?

Jezebel: Harlot Queen of Israel is part of the series Chronicles of the Watchers that charts the influence of spiritual warfare on human history, just like Chronicles of the Nephilim and Chronicles of the Apocalypse.

Our whole family loved Screwtape Letters and bought it in every format available. IMHO Brian Godawa has done an even better job than C.S. Lewis of drawing the listener "inside the head" of characters like Jezebel and other "wicked" characters in a way that is entertaining and thought-provoking -- and sometimes painfully realistic. I have over 150 Audibles, and you can count on your fingers the ones I have listened to multiple times, and this is one. The author has unusual skills both in writing and performing stories -- his voice characters are colorful, distinctive and believable. Enjoy.

If you liked "Screwtape Letters" you'll LOVE this

First time to read this author, I will be sure to read more of his work..
This is fiction. But I believe it gives a view of the spiritual battles going on in our lives. Behind the scenes.
The story will draw you in, so you want to hear more of what's going to happen next..

Some of the words used were crude, but I guess that’s spiritual warfare for you!

God is always Victorious!

I tend to skip leaving reviews but this one keep nagging me. I have finished all if the chronicles of the nephilim series and I always walk away with mixed feelings. I appreciate the way Brian makes u considered how actions during these times have a relevant impact on present day. The way he modernized how they would look at religion is interesting and echos the issues with progressive Christianity. People complain about the explicit sexual scenes and I agree they go to far sometimes but what's equally alarming is the descriptions of violence. I'm indifferent because I get the need to prove a point but then it just always goes 1 or 2 steps to far. Especially since there were moments where Biblical accuracy was completely ignored in order to paint a different disturbing picture. I found my self extremely frustrated with how he handled Jehosephat's story. I get he needed to focus on the plot and subject but he completely changed some important aspects of the Biblical account. There was a real opportunity to show a stark contrast between a good King and a bad one and Brian opted to just remix the whole thing. That annoyed me. Then we get a ridiculous parts that won't add any value to the story and I'm lefts wondering... what was more important telling the story or telling his own story. Either way I gained somethings from it and it just encourages me to continue to seek scripture and comb it and know it for myself to prevent deception. These are by no means a substitute for scripture or the accuracy of that. It’s just interesting to see it as a big picture. There should have been some sort of Biblical editor to catch all the small mistakes that didn't seem to be creative choices and more of an indication that he enjoys paganism and the building up the spiritual fantasy part more than actually getting the Biblical facts. He called Athalia Ahabs sister when he 1st introduced her then his daughter later...but maybe I'm nitpicking. 😏 🤔

interesting and makes think BUT READ YOUR BIBLE

Wow, what a great book! After reading/ listening to this story, I would encourage any of you to read the Ahab and Jezebel stories. Also, you may have a good chance to read the other Kings and Queens as coming to life also. But you got to read the word. Brian Godawa first off, has definitely read the bible passages and points out other things that some of us tend to miss or just read over.
This story I saw glimpse of fairy tale evil Queens and Kings. I saw glimpses of our government now days, I saw glimpses of a hero and loyal commander/ servant. I saw glimpses of animated cartoon characters and even glimpses of our normal lives. Then to add a kinda 3D vision too it Brian shows to ways the spiritual realm is may be involved along side our lives. But most of all, Brian shows God's Sovereignty and ultimate power over All.
If you like this book, read the books, Chronicles of the Nephilum too!

Brian Godawa made the O T come to life once again!
