Far ABOVE Rockstar Romance

I am in love. Sorry Vivienne, I know he is yours. Oh, but sigh!!!! Why are the good ones taken??
I finished Samantha Chase’s latest release One More Kiss last week, and I am still bowled over. I was gifted with an early copy of One More Kiss at a time in my life that I really needed a reality vacation and I can honestly say that this book did that in spades. The story grabbed me from the very beginning and I could not put it down. I loved the relationship that developed between Vivienne and Matt from the very beginning. I liked the way the way Ms. Chase added substance to Matt and Vivienne by writing into the story of how they both felt guilty for keeping the relationship secret from Vivienne’s brother. It is one of the many things that made the characters more “real”.
I have been a fan of Ms. Chase’s books for two years now, I still have not read EVERYTHING she has written, YET (I will get there someday), but, I know without a doubt that when I pick up one of her books I will be in for a fantastic emotional ride. Thank you, Ms. Chase, for all the hours and hours of reading entertainment you give to your reading fans. We love you!

Thank you Christopher Kipiniak, Julia Motyka for doing a phenomenal job performing this book. You brought it to life for me.

Meh

Easy, light listen, but pretty predictable. Not a huge fan of the narrators. Just ok.

It Was Okay

I was pleasantly surprised this turned out to be duet narration, my favorite narration style. I really liked the way it was scripted, but I didn't love Kipiniak's voice, especially when he did Matt's voice. I loved Motyka's voice, and I liked the way Kipiniak did some of the other male voices.

I love rockstar romances, but I felt this one wasn't very well researched. The author didn't seem to realize that in the music business, agents and managers are not the same thing. They have different jobs, especially in California where this band resided. Mick starts off as an agent but ends the story as a manager. No, his job didn't change. I think the author forgot he was the band's agent and didn't really know the difference between the two. At the beginning, he is really doing the job of the band's manager despite begin referred to as an agent, but he's not doing it very well. He treats the band members atrociously, as though they work for him, not the other way around. All I kept thinking was that they're a huge band who's been famous for ten years, and he treats them like that? Like they're children? They should fire him and hire someone who treats them with respect.

Then it jumps ahead two years to the present. I wanted more details from those two years. The story got better, and I really liked the ending, but it dragged in places and was pretty predictable.

fun book

It was fun book. I am starting the next in the series today. My only comment was the voice for Matt does not fit the character at all. The narrator was fine but his voice was a mismatch.

Loved the story but editing issues

I enjoy all her books, this one was no différent. The narrators were great. But this is the first of her audiobooks I had an issues with several editing mistake. (ie repeating of sentences).

Narrator is not good

Seriously. Narrator is so slow and monotone I couldn’t finish. It was like he was reading with very little inflection. Sad, because I like this author.

Good book

Book was great, but male reader voice didn’t fit image of male character in book. Hard to listen to him reading the lines.

Voice performance

The male had too high a voice. If narrator had read male lead would have been much better. I didn’t even listen all the way through and want listen to rest of this series or any other books from this author

Males voice was horrible for this character

Story was good, but the performance just made the story much less than it could have been!
