About this listen

Alec: I’m in my 30s and life is...well not boring, but uneventful, despite being the CEO of the family company. And that’s just how I like it to be. Then, I meet Lumen, a woman who challenges everything in such an irresistible way.

Lumen: Growing up in foster care wasn’t the nightmare for me as it was for some, but life has never been easy. I focus on my goals, and I’m never distracted by men or relationships. Until one rainy Seattle night when a gorgeous hunk walked into the spa where I work.

When Alec mistakes a young woman’s workplace for a “happy ending” massage parlor, things get more complicated than he prefers. Especially when their lives become entwined in ways never imagined.

Meet Lumen Browne and multi-billionaire CEO Alec McCrae. They are an unlikely couple, and as they struggle to fit into each other’s lives, Alec and Lumen must decide if they’ll fight for love...or walk away.

The American accent killed this one for me

Not only is the accent American, but some of the dialogue between man and woman is transposed. I may try reading this one, but I just can’t listen to it.

Great story

Was a great story. All though good thing I I had got the book as well. Chapter 4 and the last chapter are not on the audio. Over all I do like this story very much. Like how he is devoted to his daughter.

The narrator

The Narrator was horrible.. His accent was horrible and when he switched over to the women’s voice I cringed.. It was bad like really bad. Maybe read the book but don’t listen to the Audio version I had to block out his voice 😂

Missing chapter 4, it repeated. And I wish there was a girl and guy reading the story.

Scottish Millionaire Book one

The book was nicely written. Alec and his daughter perfect. Ms Brown is awesome. The book captured what is experience in modern day life. Well written

The lead man did not have a Scottish accent!

And it did not have whispersync. Due to my schedule and time in the car I don’t understand why the book and audible did not sync.

And the lead (Alec) not have a Scottish accent was a buzzkill. And the women (Lumen) talking like a soft spoken little kid it was hard to listen to and ruined the story which had great potential.

Lumen survived the foster system and that acted so weak in standing up against everyone, especially her boss.

This has potential but the voices.

Missing content

A chapter repeated itself early on and a chapter was omitted. Therefore, the book is missing content. An entire chapter is missing! It is obvious the reader has missed several aspects of the story in the missing chapter. Also, just as infuriating as the missing chapter is the missing Scottish accent. Please do not title your series The Scottish Billionaire series and NOT have a narrarator with a Scottish accent. This book was disappointing on many levels.

The voice acting…

Well, it’s awful. Truly bad. There are two voices in this book - the “male”/“internal female voice”, and a very put-on “female” voice used for all female characters, whether it’s the supposedly-sultry blind date, or the MC’s young daughter. To add insult to injury, there is zero actual accent, and the few attempts to sound Scottish are painful at best. Can I claim false advertising?

The story itself is formulaic and fine, but for the love of all that is swoon-worthy, do yourself a favor and read this one instead of listening to it.

Honestly

I couldn’t get through chapter one because a man reading the whole book with a monotone voice and crappy impression of a woman’s falsetto was just too off putting! 😝

Wtf Scottish lead horrible narration!!!

Could not finish the book between the Scottish lead not having Any Scottish, and the female’s, who speaks like that??? The narrator should listen to himself in a dark room and then write an apology to everyone who tried to listen to the book! Asking for refund!!!
