About this listen

When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies.

So when teen pop star Eden croaks onstage and Kaylee doesn't wail, she knows something is dead wrong. She can't cry for someone who has no soul.

The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad's ironclad curfew and putting her too-hot-to-be-real boyfriend's loyalty to the test. But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls: a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld - a consequence they can't possibly understand.

Kaylee can't let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk....

Enchanting Fun

Kaylee Cavanaugh is a banshee. That means when someone dies, she screams uncontrollably. So how come when she and her boyfriend, Nash, are at a rock concert and the pop star falls down dead before them, Kaylee doesn't scream? Maybe because the pop star had no soul? Looks like someone is convincing teenagers to sell their souls for fame and fortune and Kaylee is caught in the middle and the only way to get out is to travel to the Netherworld.

I really enjoy this series of books. They're fun, easy to listen to and a bit captivating. The author does a good job of selling her story and making me want to keep listening to it. They're narrated by Amanda Ronconi and she does a wonderful job reading the books. Her voices are convincing and believable and she seems to capture the attitude and voice nuances of teenagers.

Well Done

Would you listen to My Soul to Save again? Why?

I'm glad I listened to it, but I wouldn't listen to it again, I would read the back of the book to refresh my memory.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Todd the best, I'm hoping Kaylee and Todd get together. He seems like a better guy than Nash.

What about Amanda Ronconi???s performance did you like?

I LOVE Amanda Ronconi!!!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The price of fame

Any additional comments?

I thought it was a good 2nd book and I very much enjoyed the new characters.

Enjoyed it

After the prequel, the first book and now this 2nd book, I'm finding myself really enjoying the story. I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

I like

Just when the main character is being to get settled into her new life and learning to use her talents she is put to test in the most extreme way. I felt like someome taught her one or two basic algebra lessonsmand then put her into a room and said okay solve these problems or the bomb goes off.

I thimk that the main character tries to take too much onto herself in order to help others. She doesn't know her limits though, or the abilities of those around her.

The fact that I could argue with this character impresses me. That means I see her an actual rounded person, for which I give credit to the author. Good job at bringing Kaylee to life.

Banshee's are cool.

What was one of the most memorable moments of My Soul to Save?

Oh the whole Netherworld part. Would love to see it in a movie!

Which scene was your favorite?

See above.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yup and I pretty much did!

Any additional comments?

I downloaded it immediately after finishing the first book. I'm really glad I did. This book was much better in my opinion!

Great 2nd book

I really loved this book. Having already listened to the series tho I can tell you the rest of this series only gets better.
I'm glad Tod was in this book more. I just love his character. I like that we get to see his feelings come out more on this book. Makes u wonder tho what his overall intentions are is he after Kaylee? or will Addie have more of a role in the next few books. I already know but I remember wondering this the 1st time I listened to this book.
Amanda Ronconi is great! I've listened to her before but she does a great job on this series. There are a few editing issues like some lines being repeated & a small amount of skipping but this is not the narrators fault & I will not take away from my rating for that. Over all the mistakes in the editing are barely noticeable.

Great teeny-bopper!

I really enjoyed this novel. It's what my mom calls a 'teeny-bopper,' lack of sex, and gruesome details, but I think it had a great storyline. Definitely looking for the next in series.

Funzo!

Copy and Pasted from My other review of another Book in the series
This book series falls under supernatural, with out being "same stuff, different day". There's alot of fun in it and Vincent created a world that you can get lost in... Probably a series for younger readers and maybe a little geared for the female reader, never the less... I, a 30 y/o male, read&listen to a wide range of SiFi/Fantasy: from Harry Potter to Interview with a Vampire to Harry Dresden. I enjoy this and It's something other then twilight to share with my 14y/o sister.

Amanda Ronconi is amazing and brings the characters and the world to life for me.
