Engrossing Murder Mystery with a Twist

What didn’t you like about Sue Sharp’s performance?

Lacking. You could tell she was reading.

Any additional comments?

Great story with twists and turns that I did not see coming. I got so engrossed in the story that I finished it in two days. If you can get past the narrator, you will love the story.

.

Murder takes center stage in the 1st book of the Remy Summer Woods Mystery series. Remy is a lawyer in her dad's law firm but really wants to go back to art school. While trying to tell her father that she wants to leave the firm, Remy gets caught up in the murder defense of a 13 year old girl accused of shooting her father. While the police department has already closed the case, Remy investigates to get to the bottom of it all.

Remy is joined by brother and 'golden' friend Lou in finding out who committed the murder.

Sue Sharp's narration is pleasing and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Interesting Mystery With Some Plot Twists

This was my first book by this author, and it was a good mystery. I liked the main character, and while there was a trace of romance, it was not a huge part of the plot. There were a few twists that kept me guessing, which I enjoyed. I listened to this on audio and the narration was also good.

Rich Girl Mystery

What would have made Make Your Own Luck better?

Make Your Own Luck is a murder mystery with the familiar story line of rich girl from a dysfunctional family who is out to save the world. She has something to prove while at the same distance herself from her father. Parts of the book were enjoyable, but others just seemed very stung-out and unbelievable. This book could have easily ended a few chapters earlier for better effect.

Any additional comments?

Sue Sharp’s performance was just OK. You could tell she was reading and she didn't have much differentiation between the characters.
