About this listen

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Thea Harrison comes the final story in her spellbinding Moonshadow trilogy…

King Oberon reigned over his Dark Court in Lyonesse for centuries until an assassination attempt laid him low. Now he lies unconscious in his snow-bound palace while his Power battles the enchantment that threatens to end his life.

A skilled trauma surgeon and magic user, Dr. Kathryn Shaw reigns at the top of her profession in New York. Then comes a challenge she can’t resist - she is asked to cure the incurable. Just getting close enough to try healing Oberon is a dangerous proposition. When she does reach him, he awakens too soon.

Roused from darkness by Kathryn’s presence, Oberon confronts the beautiful stranger who claims she wants to save his life. But the enchantment has frozen his emotions. How can he learn to trust her when he can’t feel anything?

Oberon’s desire is icy, devoid of all tenderness. Not only must Kathryn match wits with him, she must also fight her reaction to his touch, because there is so much more at stake than her own endangered heart.

For the Dark Court faces its most deadly peril yet. Its ancient enemy Isabeau, Queen of the Light Court, is obsessed with its annihilation, and Oberon must be brought to remember his loyalty and affection for his people.

Because if he won’t fight for them, Lyonesse itself may very well be destroyed…

Hope for more of the same

I have finished the latest book in Thea Harrison's Moonshadow series. As with all things 'Elder Races' related this is more of the same FANTASTIC, WONDERFUL, AWESOME listen.

I am hoping for more of the same in the future. Harrison and Eastlake are a one, two, knock-out punch.

Never a dull moment!

It's impossible to say which book in the trilogy was the best. I loved all three. Not one but many great characters, however my favorite was Robin. There was never a dull moment and plenty of action. The narration was excellent.

Beautiful end to the Moonshadow Saga

Dr. Kathryn Shaw and Oberon were a surprise and perfect. Two individuals that are stubborn and allows no one to push them around found each other. Dr. Kathryn Shaw had always been a favorite of mine because she never allowed Dragos to dictate to her and she's no different in Lionheart. Dragos is briefly present at the beginning of Lionheart and Dr. Shaw immediately puts him in his place when he tries to order her to come to him. LOL!

One decision to help others and take on an adventure changes Dr. Shaw's life forever. Breaking a little doctor-patient protocol also allowed her life to take a detour that became her saving "Grace" in more ways than one.

King Oberon fell by Morgan LaFae's poison dart, is in permanent slumber until Dr. Shaw arouses his senses and awakens to a kingdom that has spent the last 15 years in frigid Alaskan-like winter. The ice in his heart, due to the poison that is slowly trying to make its way to his heart, and his lack of emotions are bound to kill him unless Dr. Shaw can save him. In the quest to save him they find their way together and once and for all deal with enemy Isabeau and the Light Court.

It was a wonderful, thrilling and beautiful ending to this saga. I loved having Dragos and the Sentinels around if only for a brief appearance. I hope Thea will bring us back to the world of the elder races again because I believe there are still more stories to tell and explore.

Sophie Eastlake is an amazing narrator and manages to nail every character with the correct tone and characteristics of the story.

I love when a strong woman finds her supportive and strong mate.

Strong and brave independent main characters all. Great wrap up of the story as it stands. Not quite a happily ever after as much as a truth about relationships they're constantly growing.

Let the Lion Roar!

This was another great installment in this series for Thea Harrison, with some old favorites from the Elder Races thrown in. I loved Dr. Shaw's character. Oberon was a great character and there was so much depth and back-story without slowing and weighing down the action. I would recommend this book as a great listen. The only loose end, for me, was that there was no attempt to address Dragos or his reaction / role in the end. I don't want to give anything away, but since Dragos was involved in the primary decision due to contracted service, I feel something should have been addressed at the end, too. But, then again, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dragos, so any chance I can get a peek at him, I'm all for it!
