Publisher's summary

Ilona Andrews, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Kate Daniels series, invites you to a fresh start for Kate, Curran and Conlan, in a long novella and a short novel. The places and faces may be different, but they’ve brought some familiar friends and all the special brand of chaos they create!

This bundle contains the following long novella and short novel:

In Book #1, MAGIC TIDES, Kate, Curran and their son, Conlan have left Atlanta, vowing to keep a low profile, and are settling into a new city and new house…but some things never change! Magical mayhem is about to erupt when Kate undertakes the rescue of a kidnapped youth, while Curran guards the home front.

It should be a simple retrieval, but with monsters on land and sea, Kate’s got her work cut out for her. Still, she's never let her blade dull or her purpose falter. And that low profile? It’s about to wash away with the raging tides!

In Book #2, MAGIC CLAIMS, Kate and Curran have just settled into their new home and their “low profile,” when a local businessman approaches them with an offer they can’t refuse. A mysterious evil has spawned in the nearby forest and is holding a defenseless town hostage. The “ransom date” is rapidly approaching.

It’s exactly the kind of fight the Lennarts can’t resist, not for the prize the town offers, but for the people who will surely die if they ignore it. If they succeed, they’ll be rescuing an entire community and can build a strong new base for their family and the Wilmington Pack. If they fail...well, fail is a four-letter word.

Nothing comes without a price. Now Kate must decide if she has what it takes to pay it.

Fantastic to have another adventure with Kate!

This was a wonderful duo of smaller stories in the Kate Daniels world. I was so happy to be able to step back into this world again. Both stories are good. I personally preferred the second one a little more, but that’s probably because it was a little longer. Hope there are more books with Kate, Curan, and crew in the very near future.

Outstanding performances!

I really enjoyed this version of the Wilmington Years. Hilary Huber makes a great Kate and Michael Glenn is the voice I (and many others) imagined as Curran’s in my head while reading the books. Highly enjoyable, these a stories are a great bridge to Blood Heir and what could be in the future Conlan’s adventures. A girl can hope ;)

Great KD, female narrator disappointing

Storywise, it’s great to get more Kate, and I am curious to see where the story goes. Can’t wait for Kate and Julie to finally meet again.
The new female narrator does not work at all though - the voice is generally good, but the rhythm is off and totally monotonous, to the point where it sounds like a robo caller. The books deserve better. I do like the Curran voice though!

I really enjoyed this.

Kate Daniels was the first character I read from this author. The actors that were chosen are perfect for the roles and just how I heard them in my head. In my opinion, this is worth the money or the credit.

Does not disappoint!

These stories always meet their mark. The characters are true throughout all the books and they are all worthy of many Re-reads and listens!!

welcome home!

I absolutely loved it. I have read both books but listening to them added so much more. thank you for bringing them back. I am enjoying getting to know their son. I'm glad that they are including him in their adventures. as with all your books as soon as I am finished with it I need more!
both books are fast-paced but detailed. they get you involved with the personalities of the characters and make you feel them.
this new book series feels fresher, like the author's imaginations have caught fire again. it opens up a whole new world of adventures that I can't wait for you to write (please hurry)
I have listened to the whole kate Daniels series again plus the two new books. thank you for entertaining me during my convalescents. I might not be up to jumping around sword fighting and going on Long hikes through enchanted woods. my brain has enjoyed the exercise though.
the hotter sex scenes are great also 😉
blessings to house Andrews, live long and write more.

Retirement Kate & Curran style ... I love it

So, what do you get when a trained killer and her Alpha First retire? Well, you get mayhem. And dead people. Also, fun banter, heart to heart discussions, house renovation woes, how to handle older (supposedly wiser?) family members, and parenting advice. But mostly mayhem.

Once again, House Andrews delivers. I like the narrator duo they found for the Wilmington Years. I think they are doing a fabulous job 👍

I'm not sure I would recommend any of the Wilmington Years' books if you are new to the KD world. There is a lot of background as to why Kate & family ends up in Wilmington but IA actually does a great job summarizing when necessary. So give it a try?

Quick disclaimer. I own, read, and buy ANYTHING Ilona Andrews put out into the universe (including their shopping lists 😉), so maybe I'm a little bit biased 😁
