About this listen

Cat shifter Bree Dwyer doesn't fear much. Ironically, what she fears most is the person who was put on the Earth just for her. Your true mate wasn't supposed to be cruel and twisted; wasn't supposed to be someone who'd never love or want to claim you. The rumors that her true mate is dead bring her only relief. Bree's intent on moving forward with her life and building a future with someone else. Sadly, the male she wants most is one she can never have - a hot-as-sin wolverine shifter who happens to be her boss...and the cousin of her predestined mate.

Aleksandr "Alex" Devereaux detests being bullshitted, but he's been lying to himself for years - pretending he thinks of Bree as extended family; that he doesn't want her so bad he aches with it; that he can't feel himself weakening against her pull. The night they spend together changes everything. He's done fighting himself on what he wants. Someone isn't happy about that. Possibly the same "someone" who's playing mind games with Bree, trying to scare her. They're succeeding, because too many leads point to the possibility that the culprit could be the one person that she's determined to believe is dead.

Contains mature themes.

Bring back Jill Redfield

Not sure why Jill Redfield is not the narrator for this book but she needs to be. This narrator was not that good. It was hard getting past chapter 1 because her voice for the MAIN male character was so bad. I much rather have bought the book and read it quietly. I hope Jill gets hired back on.

I don’t understand why the need to change the narrators because it’s a different. Jill was able to do accents, make male characters sound like men. This one doesn’t. And I really think this choice of getting rid of Jill will hurt the selling of the audio books because the performance is not good.

I absolutely adore these books.

The story is great. Sucks you right in for a great ride! I love the characters, and the crossover from the previous series. Narrator does a great job, but as everyone was used to Jill Redfield, it feels different. Not bad, just different. I love the push and pull of Bree and Alex. Suzanne's shifter series flow so well, and the stories just keep you so interested. Totally made me buy a book from a slightly different genre to see if she writes the others so well.

Great Read!

I'm a fan of all of Suzanne Wright's books and this one did not disappoint. It is well written with well developed characters. My one disappointment is the new readers mimic of the male characters voices is weak. I guess I'll have to learn to tolerate it, but I miss Jill Redfield reading. But despite this, the story is worth a listen.

More, please!

I can't wait for the next book. I enjoyed this story. The end was one I didn't exactly see coming. Loved all the characters, even Alex's uncles. I thought the humor between the main characters was quirky & endearing. And the way they expressed their feelings was perfectly matched to their personalities. Gotta love a strong female & a man who isn't intimidated by that. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Comes in the next book.

Suzanne's Shifters

I have been a fan of Suzanne Wright for a long time. I love her Shifter series. I especially enjoyed this book though. It was more in depth. It gave me more of an insight into the shifter world. I can't wait for the next one!!!

Champion Brooder

I really like this story. The narrator did a really good job bringing the story to life. It was very easy to lose myself in it. The world building was done very well and made it very easy to envision. That twist ending… I almost didn’t see it coming but it was quite delicious.

Overall, an excellent start to this series. I’ll definitely be coming back for more. Especially if they’re as good as this first one.

Alex!

Alex is my favorite thing about this book. He's a wolverine shifter, very powerful and emotionally stunted. His way of showing how he feels toward Bree was not only entertaining but somehow came off more sincere than if he was giving her flowery words. I may be twisted because I also liked how vicious he was in wolverine form.

Bree was the second thing I loved about this book. She's a strong woman who handled tough situations respectably. Sometimes strong females just come of combative, but not Bree. That made me like her more.

I enjoyed seeing the crazy Russian uncles again. I hope to see more of them in this series.

Great Humor, Fun personalities

This was very entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The narration was impressive with a multitude of impressive "voices". The romance, humor, and intimate scenes were well done.

The mysteries surrounding the characters didn't make a lot of sense to me. The motivations were weak. But, I enjoyed hearing that many of the characters were happy with "imprinted" mates & predestined mates weren't considered "better".

The Pride was supposed to be the "safe" place where Bree was accepted & loved but an inordinate number of people sought out our main character & treated her like dirt... repeatedly. The Alpha of the Pride seemed useless as a Leader. His people seemed to fine with abusing & picking on others with no repercussions.

The story had a few weak plot lines but, overall it was fun. Thanks!

Narration atrocious

I have always enjoyed Suzanne Wright’s series and have listened to all of the Phoenix Pack and Mercury Pack books. I was intrigued when I saw this listing and purchased with an Audible credit. Bottom line, buy the book and save your credit. The character’s voices were practically indistinguishable from one another. Almost gave up on more than one occasion but sloughed through to the end hoping it would get better. It didn’t. Unlike the other series that I have listened to more than once, I will not be repeating the experience again with this narrator. Please re-think using this narrator in the Olympus Pride series.
