Well, holy crap. When they said it ended on a cliffhanger, I didn’t expect that. After reading all the negative reviews, I actually avoided listening to this title for a while. I got it on sale and regretted it. Finally, I bit the bullet and started the book. I actually really enjoyed it. Jaymine Eve does a great job creating a group of different worlds that brings together a lot of mythology and paranormal-fantasy cool stuff.

The narration is a little weird in the beginning, but once you get used to it, it makes perfect sense. This is the first book I’ve listen to where the narration is done in this way. The female narrator being primary in the male narrator only doing the voices of the males. I really like both narrators quite a lot.

As far as the characters are concerned, they each have their different nuances that I really like. Sunshine has a pretty bad ass personality I admire. Shadow and inky are awesome as well. The characters you don’t like are very unlikable and the ones that you’re not sure of pull your heartstrings at certain times, and really confuse the shit out of you. Which all makes for a fun story to listen to while you while away the hours.

I’m looking Forward to the next book. I’m hoping sunshine and shadow get a little more kinky. I have a feeling Jackson is going to become a larger part in the next one and possibly Simone. I’m wondering what the heck’s gonna happen with Torin. I just don’t like that dude.

FYI - the first two books are much better than the last in this series but overall it is worth listening to. I will not be listening to the series again, but I did truly enjoy the experience. If you like a good paranormal romance with some pretty dirty scenes, then this series is for you. There’s not a lot of sex in this first book but the second two really get hot.

Oh my goodness! This is another amazing book by Jaymin Eve! I have loved her books since I discovered The Walker Saga years ago (go read if you haven’t!) and this one is my favorite! (sorry Walker Saga)

Mera has been tormented by her pack since her father challenged the Alpha and died as a result. On her first shift she sees her true mate and is rejected by him. This causes a chain of events that lead Mera on a journey to discover more about herself. And maybe get kidnapped by the shifter god, Shadow Beast.

Fair warning that this book ends on a pretty epic cliffhanger.

The narrators do an amazing job on this book. I love the duet narration style this book has, it is so well done.

The narrators' choosen for the book were perfect!
I love the world the author created for this series and with the depth of the story reads like a reality to get lost in. I can't wait for the next book.

I love a shifter romance and a fated mate rejection story. This is an interesting start and take on those tropes. It’s a slow burn, and that’s ok bc I also love angst but at times I wish there wasn’t so much information? I guess I’m just really invested in the story and want answers lol There is a lot of world building and the detail is great. The narration is fantastic as Michelle Spark narration always is. She portrays her characters with such finesse and brings the story to life. Noel is new to me but I am really enjoying his narration. I love his deep voice and it’s very fitting for a God/Beast. He does a great job changing his voice to portray the many characters he has. I look forward to continuing this series.

I loved this audio book.
Is it kind of a young adult book…. Yea. 😅 But it has a lot of twists and I do like that it makes you crave to know what is next at all points of the story.
Did I want to strangle the main character at times? Hell yes! But I think that’s what made her relatable. We all do stupid shit 🤷🏻‍♀️

I love this book and the story line behind it. It is Beautifully written. I’m loving the MC and how strong is she, and her colorful vocabulary. I love the different characters the different worlds.

I was hooked from the beginning! This first book in the series was great. There were shifters, supernaturals, drama, action & romance. The narrators were awesome!
