In Dulce

A good story, but much too short. Well-written, well narrated. But, too many loose ends & not enough substance. I felt like I had been dropped into the story without any background.

I was given a copy if thus audiobook by the narrator & chose to review it.

A Good Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher and found it very entertaining. This novella is a great way to kill half an hour. It is full of interesting characters, some trying to get to the true and some trying to hide it. The story moved along so smoothly 32 minutes ended too quickly.

A Well Written Short Story

Tower Lowe Introduces us to Cinnamon and Burro short stories with a well written tale of a murder young boy who was found by the roadside. The narrative not only works to solve the mystery but to expose the conditions of the school and the and the care not provided.
The narrative also introduces us to the characters and their interactions that will continue throughout the series.
This story is well worth a listen.

Great Read

Any additional comments?

In Dulce, Disturbed by Tower Lowe was a good quick read. A young boy is found dead on the side of the road after being beaten to death by his teacher. Cinnamon and Burro try to solve the mystery. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

In Dulce, Disturbed

In Dulce, Disturbed: Cinnamon/Burro New Mexico Mysteries, Book 1
: Tower Lowe

A very short story to introduce the listener to Cinnamon and Burro, the main characters in this new series. We get a bit of mystery and suspense and are shown intolerance of people that are "different." I'll watch for more in this series.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Evie Cameron.

Looking Forward to More in This Series

In Dulce, Disturbed was a good beginning for a series. I like books with a southwest background. The author, Tower Lowe was good with the descriptions to place the listener in the setting. The main characters of Cinnamon and Burro were good. It was sad the way the teachers Mrs.Smiley and Mrs.Howell, of all people, treated Eric. They all seemed to pass the buck. There was this story and the parallel story of Cinnamon's mother. I can see this furthering into a great series.

Evie Cameron's narration was excellent. She has a nice, easy to listen to voice. She spoke very smoothly and clearly. An overall terrific job by both author and reader. I'd listen to more from both.

great short read

I was gifted this audio ARC from the author/Narrator for a honest and unbiased review.
Tower Lowe combined a short story that worked. Tower introduces us to Cinnamon and Burro which work well.
Evie Cameron rocked the voices in this book. She is easy to listening.
Now my thoughts on buying the audiobook. I wouldn't waste a credit on this book it's much to short but I would say go buy the book then most times you'll get the audiobook at a discount.
Bravo

A quick intro to the series done well

Any additional comments?

This is a quick get to know you for the characters and their stories. As an intro it was good and the narration was well done. I would like to hear more in the form of a traditional audiobook. The characters were fleshed out well and the mystery solved while socially important issues were addressed. Overall good listen. Interesting Story!

This is a very short story. It seemed to me like it was part of a serial. Not much mystery other than people do not always see what's right in-front of them. Story's lesson was about accepting differences and learning tolerance. Culturally it's set in New Mexico where there are a number of Native Americans. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it.
