Publisher's summary

This book contains strong language, and adult themes that may not be suitable for everyone.

Jenny sits in the same seat on the same train every week, seeing familiar faces come and go.

Until a chance encounter shatters her world.

Sixteen years ago, Jenny survived a traumatic ordeal that left her best friend, Susie, missing and presumed dead. The world has its theories about what happened to Susie Patterson, and one of those theories points the finger at Jenny.

Now she lives a quiet life, volunteering at a crisis helpline while trying to deal with her own anxiety and the true crime fans obsessed with finding her missing friend. Then, on the way to her usual shift, Jenny is certain she sees Susie sitting in coach D.

But will anyone believe her?

Seeing Susie plunges Jenny back into a nightmare of forgotten memories and haunting fears. As the past claws its way into her present, she must unravel the truth about what happened sixteen years ago.

But the deeper she digs, the more she realises that some secrets are better left buried.

OK, but way too long

I’m not sure if this was worth the time to listen. OK story good narrator but if you have a better option, take it.

Too long

It was a good story but about 5 hours too long. The way the narrator pronounced “says” drove me insane, almost stopped listening after 2 hours.

Too long

Story was dragged out and took way too long and way too many chapters to bring it to a close.

Crazy plot

Really winding and crazy twist, very, very drawn out. Gets tiring halfway through but the ending is decent enough to finish.

The unexpected at every chapter

Just when I thought I had it, another twist and turn. One minute you fear for Jenny, next you wanted her to be strong. Agree with others this a movie for the big screen

Growth through fear!

liked the base story; the reaching for growth and moving through fear; the strong friendship.
was a bit lengthy to get to the point. But very interesting story!

skip this one

The main character is unlikable especially towards the end....the story had potential but the poor writing hurt all the plot points...this is book written fof a teen girl and doubles as inspiration for cowards to be ok with just that smh... However, the narrator was amazing!!!!
