Publisher's summary

Division Chief Seraphine Thomas’s life is giving her heartburn… And supes don’t really get heartburn.
Most would think her life would calm down after Murray was gone and the supe-hating president was out of office, but things are never that simple. Plus, the messes left by both situations are somehow on her to clean up.
And given she never gets a day off when people throw wrenches in her life—knowingly or unknowingly—it makes her life almost cruel at times. Between that and the sleep she needs as a new wolf and isn’t getting… Heartburn.
Several things need to change in her life and for her to get back on track, or the one so many depend on will break when the next hit to her comes.
And in Sera’s life, the hits are pretty damn big, so they need to support her for the next one. Or maybe it’s time for the adults to tap in and handle it this time?

Seraphine Thomas is a crime series filled with Chicago attitude and a strong heroine that pushes what most would think a female lead capable of, along with the heat being involved with several men brings while trying to figure out what she wants.

*This book is part of a series and cannot be read as a standalone. Like all my books, this is not light and fluffy and includes dark themes and events some may find triggering. Reader discretion is advised.

Another great book

the main thing I enjoy about Seraphine when compared with a lot of other heroines I read is that her strengths and struggles all feel genuine - she kicks ass and is very gifted, but that doesn't mean every problem in life melts away for her. She struggles with real problems in a realistic way - relationship issues aren't romcom misunderstandings, they feel authentic. It's easy to identify with her no matter that she's a powerful werewolf and FBI chief, she's also very human.

Erin Flynn is the queen of the writers

i just marathoned all of these on Audible in the last week and a half, and plan to go back to review the rest, but I cannot think of another writer who could keep me interested for 16 consecutive audiobooks. i normally only listen during work, but found myself choosing tasks that allowed me to continue listening when I got home. The writing and character development is great, the story is fantastic and engaging, and Erin R Flynn doesn't just one and done the problems in the yhe story, which I find very realistic, as things are almost never fully settled the first time. I am so grateful that these books are on Audible, even with AI narration, so that I can enjoy them. Even though AI narration can be problematic and leave a story flat, the writing more than overcomes any deficits the AI might cause.
