It isn't a lot of fun but a lot to think of

I think author used all what he knew about empathy, about need to be a dramatic to sink in brains of your audience — all what this book about in general. It's very nice and instructive.

I prefer a bit boisterous voice but this sounds good enought.

Brilliant

Alan Alda is as fun to listen to as he is brilliant. His ability to craft a story and deliver it as any great scene he has over the many years is remarkable. Great stories and reminders of things we need to attend to for the sake of relationships and happiness.

Alan Alda as author and storyteller- what could be better?

This book was an absolutely delightful way to learn about communication. We had many “aha” moments as we listened. And Alan Alda was a joy to listen to.

Alan Alda does well with this topic

Alan Alda's performance and passion for his topic are everything one would expect of this veteran actor. What he has to say about effective communication, it's importance, and how we can learn it are a breath of fresh air in what could have been a very dry topic. His use of story, something at which he excels and which is a central topic of the book are wonderful.

Necessary topic, well presented and well read

As with so many things the ideas may seem obvious - but obviously too many of us don't think enough about effective communication and the suggestions are all well worth considering.

No One is Immune to This Message

Over the past eight years, my middle life story has led me in search of many of the big questions of life. I have turned over the rocks of science, art, business, politics, theology, and philosophy. One thing that all of these disciplines often have in common; they all have difficulty in communicating and relating to people outside of their own world view.

The story of Alan Alda's journey into the lives of those who struggle with or excel at communicating their life's passions, gives us a peek into what makes us truly human, empathy.

Deleted by the voice of the hero of my youth, Hawkeye, made the book even more enjoyable.
