Story
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

Powerful Guide to Becoming a Better Person
I'm in the boat where I don't realize I'm being toxic (negative) until someone reminds me about it. Then, I can't believe I was the way I was. This audiobook does a great job of breaking it all down, laying all the pieces out, and then helping me to put it all back together in a more positive way.
Simply just being aware of toxicity goes a long way. With the strategies in this book, I can learn to let go and move on. The section on setting healthy boundaries was probably my favorite as it's the one thing I struggle most with.

Breaking Negative Cycles
I was curious about how relationships turn sour and wanted a direct resource for insights. This book provides a practical look at toxic behaviors and suggests ways to step out of those negative loops. The guidelines feel straightforward, focusing on how small shifts in our own actions can improve everyday connections. Even if you’re not stuck in constant conflict, it’s helpful for understanding where emotional intelligence fits into overall well-being. It seems like a clear, balanced approach to healthier, more positive interactions.

Breaking from toxicity
I found this audiobook super helpful for dealing with the messy stuff in my relationships. The writer doesn't judge, they just get right to the point about fixing bad habits that mess up our connections with people. The best part was learning how to stop getting in my own way and actually let people get close. There were tons of tips I could actually use, not just fancy ideas that sound good but don't work in real life. My only gripe is that sometimes they could've slowed down a bit when explaining the tougher concepts. Still, if you're tired of pushing people away or letting others walk all over you, this book is definitely worth checking out. It really helped me understand why I do what I do and how to change it.

Helped My Friend View Things Differently
My personal friend was in an abusive situation and feeling a bit lost. I suggested that he listen to this audiobook, hoping something would help him, and he found it greatly insightful. It made him question his own reactions, set stronger boundaries, and feel more powerful instead of being frustrated. He told me that it opened his eyes and provided him with some real tools to start making some changes. Seeing him feel more confident made me so happy, I shared it. If you know someone in your life struggling with toxic relationships, this is definitely worth sharing.
