About this listen

Managing stress comes down to understanding - and solving - what therapist Megan Bruneau calls the stress equation. According to Bruneau, stress is the result of thinking that your perceived responsibilities are greater than your perceived capacity to take them on.

In this workshop, Bruneau tells us how to change those perceptions to manage stress, whether it originates at the office or elsewhere. From understanding that you can’t do everything yourself to taking time to boost your mood, Bruneau identifies concrete ways to help you de-stress and more confidently handle life’s messiness.

Key Takeaways:

  • Learn to Say No: You don’t have to do everything on your own—and some things you just can’t do
  • Enjoy Imperfection: Doing things perfectly isn’t expected or possible, so give yourself room to be imperfect
  • Prioritize Self-Care: Your physical well-being plays a big part in how successful you are in managing stress

Back to Basics

A decent course - very surface level, but it's a good reminder on simple fundamentals of stress management.

common sense but not common practice

Basic tips but succinct. Sometimes common sense is not common practice. It is good to be reminded of simple actions we can take. If you listen to it and say it is basic, or that you already know them and yet you're still stressed, maybe you just need to apply them. Action steps don't need to be fancy. Why use sledgehammer to crack a nut?

Free with membership

I like to listen to free things on personal development. Some books may not be worth your time. This is a great short and to the point. Some things I’ve already know but doesn’t hurt to hear a second time. Feeling stressed? You’re worth these 30 minutes if you WANT to improve 😉
