About this listen

What if love threatened to destroy everything you’d worked for?

Hockey right winger Tyler Jensen isn’t thrilled to get the news he’s been traded to the Bethesda Barracudas. The team may be red-hot in the rankings, but there’s someone there he’d rather not have to see every day.

Defenseman Kevin Moore is one of the top-rated rookies in the country. He’s living the dream playing for the Barracudas - until he hears that his old high school crush Tyler is joining the team. Ty was once everything Kev wanted, but their age difference got in the way. Tyler decided a three-year gap was too much and left Kevin behind.

In Bethesda, Tyler doesn’t take long to notice that Kevin has grown up into precisely the kind of man he can’t resist - brawny, brainy, and beautiful. Kev feels the pull, too, and as the men become closer, they work hard to keep their budding relationship secret. Professional hockey may be welcoming gay players now, but Ty and Kev aren’t sure management would like the idea of two Barracudas taking teamwork to an entirely new level.

As the playoffs loom, news of their romance gets out. Ty and Kev, caught in a storm of controversy that threatens to destroy them, need a power play to save their careers. How will they find one before it’s too late?

Fire in the Ice delivers on the promise that second chances can work and dreams can come true. If you like exciting hockey, plenty of humor, a beautiful HEA, new adults, young athletes, and enough heat to burn down the house, this book is for you.

Great audio makes a wonderful even better

Nick J Russo did a fabulous job of bringing Tyler and Kevin to life. I had read the book when it first come out, but the audio brought new insight to all the characters. I only keep a few books downloaded to my phone all the time, but this is definitely one I'll listen to again and again. If you love hockey and you love characters who are willing to work through their trials together, this is the story for you.

5 Star LIsten!

Ryan Taylor and Joshua Harwood have done it again! This book was everything! It has so many things that I love in a book; romance, action, hockey, lovable characters and a well deserved HEA! Tyler and Kevin have such chemistry that their romance is off the charts. Nick J. Russo did a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life. If you love romance and hockey you will love this book.

So much heart

This book is full of so much heart. Kevin and Tyler are gorgeous together and I love that we get to see Nick and Jacob again from Nice Catching You. A great book that is narrated to perfection by Nick J. Russo.

good

All the back and forth between Ty and Kevin gave me high anxiety. Once they got out of their own way things improved. I liked the family , team, and friends ' support for the couple. Prejudices like that have no place in today's society. The parents were a cute surprise. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Tyler and Kevin's story

I had forgotten how much I love Kevin and Tyler. They are both so adorable and I love their cute nicknames for each other; "Ding dong" and "Dorky", except I forget which one is for who. I highly recommend this series either in e-book or audiobook.

ANOTHER GOAL! THEY JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER

"Fire in the Ice" is the third book in this series and so far the best. Book #1 was "Nice to Catch You", book #2 "New Next One" was a prelude to book #1, and the saga continues in this book #3. I strongly suggest reading the books in order as the terrific characters keep appearing in all three books... the story line will make sense.

Kevin and Tyler's relationship develops so beautifully, and the storybook ending will make you shed a tear. The authors definitely hit their stride with this book, and I very much look forward to books #4 and #5. Narrator Nick Russo does his usual best, and at the end of the day I cannot say enough about how much I liked this book. A must read... not to be missed!

Love on the Ice

Mr. Russo did a top-notch job portraying an array of different voices. I found his tone strong, and this audio definitely held my attention. I really love this narrator’s voice, and he brought life to this romance on ice.

You could feel the initial tension between Kevin and Tyler. Tyler’s yearning to be closer to Kevin was so intense. Kevin’s distrust and hurt were masterfully portrayed as he explained how he felt used. A powerful audio presentation that I heartily recommend. If you love stories filled with past hurts and a hopeful future romance, you will surely be pleased. Happy listening!

Story-line

A sweet story that is heartfelt between two hockey players. Right Winger Tyler Jensen is living the dream of playing for the Bethesda Barracudas. He used to date the team’s captain Nick years ago and has maintained a genuine friendship with him.

Tyler was seventeen when he first met Kevin, three years his junior. Kevin has just plain grown up, much to Tyler’s delight. He is no longer a kid but a hunky defenseman now playing on the same team. Kevin seems to radiate anger because of Tyler’s obliviousness to Kevin’s crush and was not the best of friends over the years. Kevin is full of hurt and distrust, much to Tyler’s dismay. Tyler was his friend when it seemed convenient, and his insensitivity really was hurtful to Kevin. Naturally, Tyler was totally oblivious to any of this.

The men finally talk, and the mutual attraction just crackled. Life on the ice is pretty sweet until their growing relationship complicates things. Two men romantically linked on the same hockey team? Oh yes – this could cause problems. Hockey and love make for a great book, with a bit of drama and some sizzling scenes. A memorable story that I truly enjoyed.

Heartwarming, Engaging, and Well Narrated!

I read this book when it was first released. It wasn't hard to fall in love with Kevin and Tyler. I love how these authors write their characters. They don't just tell you about them on paper; they draw a picture with their words so vivid it's as if you know them. It's as if you can picture them in your mind - not just what they look like, but who they are as a person. Add onto that the amazing narrating talents of Nick Russo, and you have one heck of a story. Nick perfectly captures each moment in the wonderful story. He brings it to life in a way that leaves you all the more fond of this book.

Beyond the captivating characters lies a story that grabs your attention and holds on from start to finish. I enjoy character-driven storylines, and this one does not disappoint. There's no formula, no contrived drama. Instead, they experience things that are authentic to these men's situations. They are not in the closet, but that doesn't mean they don't face difficulties because they fell in love and just so happen to be teammates. It makes for a refreshing take on the journey called romance.

While this book shares some side characters from a previous book, the storyline is independent and completely wraps up by the end of the book. It can be listened to without having heard (or read via e-book) any of the other books (the ones before and the ones after). Fair warning, though - the side characters will make you like them.
