About this listen

I don't remember a time I didn't love Crenshaw Bennett.

I tried to deny it, but my feelings grew deeper.

I thought he could never love me the way I love him.

I was wrong - outrageously, deliriously, and beautifully wrong.

One innocent kiss changes my life forever.

Suddenly, Shaw is mine.

Loyal, devoted, and the most loving man on this Earth.

Together, we create an explosion of fiery passion, devotion, and chemistry I never knew was possible.

All of my dreams are within reach, but I should have known it was too good to be true.

The past always catches up to you, and I'm left staring at my worst nightmare.

Faced with the unthinkable, I am forced to choose between the man I love and a past I cannot change.

Shaw's fighting like hell to prove we can have it all, but can I find the strength to be the woman he needs?

Oh, What A Tangle Web They've Weaved!

I love finding new authors and WOW did Ahren Sanders enthrall me with Hotshot! The story intrigued me with all the drama and angst, and kept me engaged. When I first started listening, I was afraid this story would have a lot of teenage drama, but once I realized the direction Sanders was taking it, I couldn't stop listening. Well worth the time.

Some spoilers;
Lizbeth nicknamed "Bizzy" meets Crenshaw "Shaw" when she was fourteen and going through chemo treatments the same time as Shaw's younger brother Nick. Close in age, and having a connection, Nick and Bizzy hit it off, beat cancer, and become best friends. While Bizzy and Nick may be best friends, she also formed a bond with Nick's older brothers Shaw and Mathis; however, she's always had a special connection to Shaw. Over the years, the three brothers became protective of Bizzy and watched over her.

Ten years later, Bizzy and Shaw realize what everyone around them already knew, their feelings run much deeper. Shaw asked Bizzy to go on a business trip with him to help her relax since she is under so much stress. She doesn't want to go because of her secrete crush on Shaw, but reluctantly agrees when all the brothers insist. While on vacation, Shaw confesses his feelings for Bizzy, and Bizzy confesses hers. The chemistry between them was explosive and HOT. They had the perfect relationship and was looking forward to a future together, but their happy little bubble was burst when Shaw's previous mistake comes back in the picture.

Before Bizzy, Shaw had a few meaningless nights with Sasha; however, Sasha had her sights set on Shaw. She didn't take it well when he told her they would never be together, but she's come crashing back into his life in a big way, she's pregnant with his child. At first, he's shocked and demands a paternity test, but deep down, he knows she's telling the truth. He has conflicting feelings and is scared to tell Bizzy about the pregnancy because Sasha is Bizzy childhood nemesis. Through the years, Sasha has made Bizzy's life a living he**, and he's afraid this will devastate Bizzy. Before the results comes back, Bizzy finds out about the pregnancy and is hurt and feels betrayed. She's hurt because it's Sasha, and she's hurt because Sasha may be able to give Shaw something she never can, a baby. Due to the chemo treatments, it's possible she may never be able to get pregnant. It's a blow to their relationship, and Sasha does everything in her power to control Shaw and get him to leave Bizzy. Shaw was resolute in his feelings for Bizzy, but ended up with conflicting emotions, when it really hits him, he's falling in love with his unborn child, how could he ever ask Bizzy to love his child knowing what Sasha put her through. It's a tangled mess of emotions, angst, betrayal and love.

All the drama, and angst the characters felt clinched my heart and I was unable to stop listening. I loved how Sanders built up the chemistry between the characters before throwing in all the angst. It made them staying together that much more believable.

The narration was awesome and really brought me into the story.

average to better than average

Was a bit predictable, although it was fun listening to it play out. Wish the villain had not been portrayed so villainously and the hero and heroine so virtuously. But, of course, this is fiction, so....

Really entertaining

I truly enjoyed this book so much! The characters of Shaw and Bizzy were so meant to be together and the story kept me listening far into the night. The antagonist was just vile enough to make you hate her, while Bizzy's friendship with Nick was so sweet . I highly recommend this book with all its twists and surprises!

Performance better with Shaw

I don't think I could have finished this book, if it had not been for the male narrator. It is not that the female doesn't do well with her performance, but she doesn't sound like the character of Bizzy. She sounds like she would make a perfect Sasha.

nope

This felt like pure drivel. Not only is the female antagonist psychotic and all of the "demands" fully unrealistic, implausible and a violation of personal rights, what man with equal power would truly not put up more of a fight. Second, any self respecting female would pitch the jerk for being a narcissistic jerk. He cannot even apologize appropriately and somehow makes her deficient.

This book is a big 'ol soap opera and a whole lotta "forgetaboutit"

Loving her books!

This is my third book in a row from this author. I love really angsty books and Ms. Sanders delivers. Her books have all the feels.
