About this listen

Jaden's path to save the world from the gods? Become one himself.

In the gripping sequel to Arcane Cultivator, the stakes are higher and the magic more powerful. Jaden and the Nomadwater Sect, growing ever closer in the treacherous Southfall, embarks on a daring quest to uncover secrets left by Elder Brother.

But with Elias, the God of Sand, as their reluctant sponsor, their journey is anything but straightforward . . .

Defying the god's wishes, they delve into Elder Brother's crypt, uncovering a prophecy of dire confrontations ahead and a powerful one-use Arcane Card, Elemental Convergence. Their defiance, however, comes at a cost. Elias, enraged, freezes them for three months, drastically cutting their training time for the looming challenges.

In a race against time, the sect's journey takes them through the Kingdom of Middling, where they face the Emperor's Magi and uncover a bizarre task set by Elias: to find five floating heads in a deadly forest. Their mission leads to a daring rescue operation from the catacombs beneath E'Kanth and a revelation that could change their fate and cost them their lives . . .

This book is perfect for fans of All the Skills, Cradle, and Mage Errant.

An interesting concept combining both Cultivation and Deckbuilding in a litRPG

Jaden has come a long way since the clans ceremony to activate his mana and skills and he's gotten powerful. In this book Jaden and team are as ready as they can be, ready to face the challenge of the 2nd piller. A game to entertain the gods. This is really a combination of Cultivation and a Deckbuilding LitRPG. It's the first time I've run into a trilogy like that. It's interesting and quite good too... but unfortunately this wasn't the deckbuilding book that I expected to read. So I'm going to continue the hunt to satisfy my craving for true deckbuilding litRPG's...

That they were always there for each other

The book was fast moving. I enjoyed that it wasn’t boring. Sometimes a book can be. I can’t wait for the next story to be out the finish series.

Nice continuation of the series

Jaden, being the MC of the series, lightly stepped more into this role from book 1. While not the leader of their faction as yet, he begins to strengthen his arcane skills to play more of a pivotal role. His companions also refine their skills over wind, water and earth theirs are more single element focused whereas, Jaden's is more diverse. The quest is to enter the tournament of the gods and their ultimate goal is to defeat the capricious entities who seek to use mortals for their entertainment pleasure.

The book ends near the end of the tournament with their faction mostly intact, readying to carpe diem those deities.

Looking forward to book 3.

Neil Hellegers' performance, again, kept me from getting a good couple of nights sleep.
