These processes build our sense of self, help us form connections, and influence whether we feel comfortable in different situations or with different individuals. Despite the fact that these processes may be witnessed scientifically and subjectively, they constitute a complex interplay between our psychological experience and physiological control.

Stress levels are at an all-time high—so much so that a recently convened panel of medical experts in the US has recommended that all adults under the age of 65 be screened for anxiety. In How to Release Anxiety, Gabby Bernstein offers simple, actionable steps for feeling better, living with more ease, and showing up for those around us. Gabby’s unusual advice: Rather than manage your anxiety, what if you befriended it? Gabby posits that what we befriend, we can ultimately be at ease with. So she invites us to get curious.

Really helpful and informative
This short nonfiction audiobook gives really great information about anxiety and how to reduce your own stress and anxiety without medication. I learned a lot, including terminology, how to identify what anxiety problems I might have, and useful ways to help myself. It also gave me more ideas about things to talk about with a therapist. I am no expert, but I think that the book sounds very well researched and accurate. I plan on listening to this 1.75-hour audiobook again in the future. It is a really great deal at less than the cost of an Audible credit; I would pay that price, and I'll probably gift it to some friends soon.
The narrator Bill Franchuk wasn’t perfect, but he did a really solid performance. His delivery was clear and compassionate, and I felt comforted by his voice. Bill Franchuk really conveyed the first-hand experience and empathy of the writer. He sounds like a middle-aged guy from Ohio, which works well with the subject matter.
I requested and received a free audiocode via @AudioBookfly, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
