Publisher's summary

If you've ended up checking out this book, chances are you're someone with a serious anger problem. Your explosive temper has probably cost you jobs, friends, loved ones - maybe even your liberty. If it hasn't yet, it soon will - unless you do something about it.

This book contains a powerful and straightforward system for taking control of your anger and your life. This program is not easy, and it might even be painful at times - but it works. When you make and keep that promise to yourself to stay calm no matter what, the happier, safer life you want will become a possibility.

  • Identify the causes of your anger
  • Avoid violence, blaming, and threats
  • Stay calm one day at a time
  • Change anger-provoking thoughts
  • Ask for what you want without anger

Make the choice!

Narrator had a annoying voice but I think it actually helped me in a bonus way to deal with things I didn't like and to look at it in a different perspective. This book should definitely be an eye opener to those of us who are angry and teach us to not be so selfish and to take time to thank the people who love and deal with us on a daily basis. I will be purchasing the hard copy to read and be more diligent in practicing to let go of anger. I have already made a big improvement with my relationship with my wife and my children.

Getting angry is a choice

This book will teach you to recognise that by now you have a big anger problem, look at how your anger has affected yourself an others, think about how you became so angry, consider the main reasons you've stayed angry, learn to prevent the unnecessary anger, contain your emotions and resolve your problems, begin changing how you act when you get angry, what you think, what you feel and how anger affects your spirit, make the sincere promise to yourself to change, walk up and down the anger and violence ladder, It also has a chapter for your partner because he or she has a lot of things to think about.

The author also provides 11 rules for controlling your anger (and violence):

1) Take a time out to stop the violence.
2) Wipe that frown of that face and relax.
3) Quit trying to control others.
4) Accept difference.
5) Ask, don't demand.
6) Reward, don't punish or threaten.
7) Speak quietly and don't swear.
8) Be responsible for what you say.
9) Treat others with respect.
10) Tell others what bothers you.
11) Be direct, specific and polite. Use "I" statements.
