Publisher's summary

“One of the greatest fictional detectives of all time” (Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child) is in the sights of the Dead Hours Killer, a serial murderer on a ruthless mission.

An airport killer targeting pilots expands his scope. Alex Cross Must Die.

“Drop whatever you’re doing, Detective Cross, and head to Reagan Airport,” DC Metro Police dispatch says. “A jet just crashed and exploded on the runway. The chief and the FBI want you and John Sampson there pronto.”

Cross and Sampson race to the crash site. The plane didn’t fail—it was shot down by a stolen Vietnam War–era machine gun.

The list of experts who can operate the weapon is short. And time before another lethal strike runs even shorter. Especially for Detective Cross.

Alex Cross story

Enjoyed listening to another Alex Cross book. Didn’t quite get the title though - if you are a fan this fits the plot line of an Alex Cross storyline..

Clever and interesting plot.

Title doesn’t relate particularly to the story but story is good. Really like multiple narrative performers.

It was almost like watching a movie!

Multiple readers bringing the book to life was both amazing and riveting! This was a fun listen that I sincerely enjoyed. Thanks.

Alex Cross not Close To Dying

I was expecting Cross to be in much more danger and come close to dying multiple times and multiple ways. With this in mind the story and plot was disappointingly weak.

Misleading Title

Nobody was about to kill Alex. I know they were going to Boston to check up on Maestro when it ended, but maybe the next book should be called “Alex Cross Must Die.”

Solid story

Good story and keeps you guessing. There were some instances where you can clearly predict what would happen next, but otherwise enjoyable. The title, however, is misleading.

Wrong Title!

I kept waiting for someone to initiate a plot to kill Cross, that is why I got this book, but nothing of that matter took place! The kid's narrator was almost making me stop this audio and throw it.

Engaging but bad child narration

The voice for the child characters was almost unbearably whiny. Two thumbs down. Otherwise narration was excellent. Story engaging with some good twists.

Great book

James Patterson is back. Multiple cases going on at once with twists. Narrators were excellent however the title of the book has nothing to do with the stories
