We all know that parenting can be one of the most rewarding experiences in the life of anybody. Parenting an ADHD child without the proper knowledge and tools, on the contrary, can be a nightmare.

I'm a therapist, and I have the syndrome myself, and my 29-year-old son, too. After 30+ years of caring for ADHD children, teens, and adults, I gained a lot of experience dealing with ADHD.

We need to shift our perception of ADHD, probably the most misunderstood and mishandled syndrome.

A book that is written by someone who truly understands the struggles you are going through.

There are chapters about boys and girls in different age groups, from 2 to 20+ years old. Different ages need different approaches and considerations.

We divide the book into two main sections: The Knowledge and The Solutions.

Knowledge Is Power. Stop yelling and start to listen; stop crying and begin to laugh; stop blaming and begin to understand.

Your frustration will only worsen if you don't make a change!.

Full of surprise

We are parents who thought they knew everything about ADHD. Instead, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of information we had no idea about. We realized that our education system was wrong because we did not have the correct information! And yes, we have to change the way we behave first! The chapter "how to speak to be heard and how to listen to make them speak" is a revelation, but not the only one. For us, the 3 secret keys have also opened up a new way of dealing with our son. Thanks!

Finally, I understand

It's the third audiobook on the subject I listen to, but it will be the last. Packed with knowledge is changing my son and my family's life for the better. I have 3 children, one son with ADHD, a daughter and another son who are " neurotically," but I can use all the advice for all three regardless of ADHD. I also realized that we, the parents, have to change first. The blaming, anger, and frustration wheel is now stopping to turn, and new, much more rewarding feelings are taking place. Thanks, William, great job

From hopeless to enthusiast

I'm a dad of two, both diagnosed with ADHD in December 2021. We receive the news as the world is ending right there! The doctor privately depicted ADHD as a nightmare for parents and children alike. Some sleepless night after that unforgettable moment, we decide to get ourselves up to date and learn everything there's to know about ADHD and how to raise this kind of exceptional child. By listening to William Ross-Child audiobook, some books later, we feel empowered to raise our children confidently for success and a thriving life. We are learning so much through this audiobook ( the best, in our opinion), and we start to apply a few concepts with results right away. What a change in our lives, as parents and family! Positive parenting is the way to go, as very well described in this complete audio guide.

Not only for parents of ADHD children!

This audiobook depicts how to raise children with ADHD positively; that's the first reason I love it. It's full of valuable content, leaving no stone unturned, from how to get a proper diagnosis to what and how to do after you know your child is ADHD-affected. The positive attitude is guiding all through this incredible journey to discover the hidden side of ADHD. The 3 secret keys is a chapter that alone is priceless. To me, it opens up a new approach to my loved one ( Dan, 8 years old), and I'm sure it will change things for the better. The knowledge I learned by listening to the audiobook I'm sure could benefit any parent regardless of ADHD.

A must for parents, teachers, and therapist

I'm a school teacher, and I have to deal with children with ADHD. This is the reason I bought this audiobook. It's the fourth book on the subject, but I must say this one is the bible on how to raise or deal with ADHD children. So many new insights I'm learning by listening, things I had never imagined. The video game chapter, the power of positive language and positive attention, and the difference between ADHD males and females, to name a few, are impressive. Recommended to teachers, parents, and therapists, the ADHD children deserve us to know how to treat them!

In-depth analysis of Parenting ADHD children

I'm a therapist and listening to this audiobook, I learned a few ( many) things about ADHD I never imagined. The audiobook is well structured, covering every angle of ADHD syndrome. The positive approach is a plus. The chapter on how the brain of ADHD is differently wired is outstanding, and the same goes for the "neurotypical Vs. neuro-divergent" chapter. What to do with children from 4 to 20+, the different ages and approaches is an essential part, mostly forgotten in all the books I have read before, if we want to reach the desired results. A lot to learn, and I will buy the paperback version too.

Revealing!

The more I listen, the more I understand what to do with my daughter Lisa ( 12 years old). I wished I had these pieces of information earlier to spare all the turmoil we went through mostly due to my ignorance on the subject. The 3 secret keys the author describes should be taught in school to parents of ADHD children and all parents. We thought love is all you need to raise your child and is faithful, but you are in for trouble without the appropriate knowledge.

The positive attitude toward ADHD that I needed

I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt I had to this time. The more I listened to this audiobook, the more I realized how wrong my "education" approach was. I guess I was the real problem! It could be hard to admit, but the author clearly shows how parents without the proper knowledge are often the biggest obstacle in the child's life. There's specific chapters about what parents have to do and how to do it. How to talk to make them listen was an eye-opener and a blessing. So much to say, but I suggest you listen by yourself, you won't regret it.

No words to describe it

Yes, I have no words to describe this audiobook's impact on us as parents. At first, the discovery that we may be the real problem was hard to swallow. But it all made sense afterward, and we learned how to talk positively, the positive attention and how to discipline ( without drama and yelling!). I could go on with all the new( at least for us) attitudes and skills to change the way we relate to our child, but it won't make a difference for you unless you listen by yourself and apply what's suggested. This audiobook has everything a parent needs to know to raise ADHD and "normal" children with confidence.

Single Mom of an explosive

Yes, it can be tough and frustrating to raise an ADHD child if you don't know how, don't have the right tools and knowledge, and are left alone struggling. That's precisely how my situation was before I started listening to this audiobook. Without exaggeration, I can say that it changed my life and my son's life too. Now everything makes sense; why he behaves as he does! But most importantly, now I know how to handle and what to do. I need to listen again and again and take note so much is packed inside. I will buy the paperback version too
