Publisher's summary

When a victim with no ID is found murdered, Detective Jackson believes it’s another hate crime. He rounds up members of a local white nationalist group, but his task force doesn’t have enough evidence to hold them.

Soon after, another woman dies of what looks like a possible suicide. Yet a witness claims the victim had argued with her estranged husband right before. The team has to split up to investigate both deaths, and the detectives are pushed to their limits.

When they finally identify the first victim and a reporter reveals a shocking detail from a prisoner, Jackson realizes the crimes are connected. But without any solid evidence, he has to extract a high-stakes confession from a suspect with everything to lose.

A reeally good listen

I istened to this as an
exploration of police units fighting to do
Fine work as theh are
gutted. Fiction
with grains of thruth.
And what mind game tp struggle with so many hard won clues to these mysteries.
I began to lose track of the plot but the author rescues
her readers in a final
fine press conference eat the end
Lots of fun tagging
along with the detectives and pne wee terrier

Excellent series

I’ve really enjoyed this series. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves detective novels. I also loved that most were free with audible on the kindle app. Thanks for that! The only thing I didn’t like with the last couple books were the narrator’s voices for a lot of the characters where Sophie’s voice sounded like an old man. A couple of the other voices sounded the same. Overall I wasn’t that bothered because the story made up for that.

LJ is the best

I have to agree with the other review that while this is another great book by LJ, the narrator didn’t do her work justice. The voice he used for female characters was frog-like at times and distracted from enjoying the book. The book itself is so fun and hard to put down.
