About this listen
At 211º water is hot. At 212º, it boils. And with boiling water, comes steam. And steam can power a locomotive. It's that one extra degree that makes all the difference. Use this powerful metaphor to reach new heights.

This simple analogy reflects the ultimate definition of excellence. Because it's the one extra degree of effort, in business and life, that can separate the good from the great. Story
Do you ride the escalator or do you take the stairs? No matter how you define success, it always requires one thing: self-discipline. But as popular speaker and strategist Rory Vaden explains, we live in an "escalator world", one that's filled with shortcuts, quick fixes, and distractions that make it all too easy to slide into procrastination, compromise, and mediocrity. What seems like an easier path is really much harder in the end - and, most important, it won't take you where you want to go.

A lot of what you should be doing…
Story has a lot of what you should be doing. It doesn’t really explain a way to change your mindset into how to create a habit to achieve that “should be doings.” very short, so can be digested in an afternoon. But more of an appetizer, then a main course.

Amazingly Inspiring
What made the experience of listening to 212 The Extra Degree the most enjoyable?
It motivates you to go the extra mile to accomplish tasks.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the analogy of likening hard work and effort to turning up the temperature on your effort or drive, so that your energy to achieve goals bubbles like boiling water.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No. It reinforced those things that I already knew. It was a common sense approach to working on your life's goals and objectives, but most of all, it reminded me that I must push through when I'm discouraged.

Powerful, Impactful
sometimes we assume that we need a really long book to get a point across. sometimes we think we need to read three or four or more just to have a better understanding of the topic. 212 degrees simplifies it in one of the most powerful ways I have ever heard. I am definitely a junkie of mindset and self-help books. I strongly desire to improve my performance in anything that I take the time to do. I just finished the book and now I plan on listening to it again because there was so much, so simple, in such a short time that's I feel like he said everything that needed to be said followed by a mic drop. I plan on sharing this book with everybody on our sales team. this was powerful.
