About this listen

In some ways, I was so ordinary. Waking up in bed with my Paul, my surfer boyfriend, our life filled with sandy toes and tan lines. I stocked books during the day and danced with him to Bob Marley at night.

In other ways, I was unordinary. I'd dust off the sand and step into Stewart's limousine. Zip up my evening gown and slide into my other life. Champagne and maid service. Orgasms and my businessman.

My life was a tide, pulling me back and forth between the two men. Soothing. Peaceful.

Then the undertow came, pulling my lives together, my men colliding, my breath shortening, arms flaying against the current, my heart breaking in its strength.

I should have known it would never work out.

This audiobook was originally published in 2014 under the title Sex Love Repeat. It was a seven-time book of the year nominee and a USA Today best seller. This keeps the same story line.

Good Read

I really enjoyed this book and the twists along the way. I was doing this one Whispersync so have to admit that it was easier to read than to listen to. The narrator was ok, but she used the same voice for all the characters so I was confused if I missed the beginning of a short chapter that was the story of a different character. This book would be improved by using multiple narrators, which I don't always like. I like the way the author creates something different, a bit twisted, and lets us make discoveries along the way. I felt that way with her other books that I have read or listened to: Black Lies, and The Girl in 6E. Lots of slutty sex so I would advise those who don't like that kind of stuff to stay away from this book. I thought it was good and enjoyed it very much.

touching story

there were several surprises and the ending wasn't what I expected but definitely worth your time. You can't but like these characters, they are flawed but real.

Lots of great sex!

If you don't like realistic, graphic depictions of sex, this book still has a good story line and characters to love.

Really Well done Story of Woman with Two Men

Very likeable, straightforward protagonist, who just happens to be romantically involved with two guys (there's a twist, but won't spoil it).
Moves along well, juicy story and exciting climax.

Very well narrated.

It’s ok.

Story is OK. Narrator is breathy. For the sex scenes it’s fine but it’s kinda weird when she is doing the sister’s part. Makes the connection to the male characters seem really weird. The story is repetitive in the ways she describes the men, the way they love her and the way they make love to her. I got bored. I almost stopped listening about halfway through.

Undertow

Normally I am not one for love triangles because there is just so much dramalama and it doesn’t make the story enjoyable for me. But with this book, it was interesting and done in a way that makes you think.

I love that Madison is fluid in her sexuality and that even though she doesn’t agree with Stewart completely she still find Paul and the relationship between each of them is unique and uniquely theirs if that makes sense.

I have to remark on the title change because I complete loving the new title it really does fit with the story.

The narration is great I couldn’t ask for better I think Hollie is a fantastic job separating the three pov’s.

I Think I've Discovered My Favorite New Author!

If you could sum up Sex Love Repeat in three words, what would they be?

Sexy, Sad and Shocking!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sex Love Repeat?

I knew going into this book that there was some sort of a love-triangle involved. I was a little disappointed to tell the truth, when I realized that there was in fact, going to be no M-F-M action in this book - I was convinced that this was going to be the big shocker (finale) at the end! I was so disgruntled by this fact that I did not see the real shocker coming in the epilogue - it totally turned this into a 5-star read for me!

Which character – as performed by Hollie Jackson – was your favorite?

Hollie Jackson did an excellent job of narrating all characters! I actually looked for, and purchased more of her work after listening to this book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

**Spoilerish** I was shocked when one of the men simply walked away. It was so out of character for this person to simply give up on what he wanted. I really felt the the sadness of this unbelievable situation and ultimately a sense of forgiveness.

Any additional comments?

About an hour into this book I realized that I was a bit confused - I did have to start again for the beginning. The book is told in alternating POVs of 4, yes 4 different characters! The 2 male leads, Paul and Stewart and the female lead, Madison. There is also a 2nd female character, Dana - watch out for her, don't get distracted like I did! lol

Captivating and Intense

Imagine being in a relationship with two different men who know the other man exists. That is the scenario that Madison has found herself in, living with Paul and at Stewart's beckon call. How the author comes up with these plot lines boggles my mind.

A complex story, filled with plenty of passion, intense emotional feeling, and begs a tough question - if each man holds your heart, how do you choose...how can you choose?

"The heart is stubborn. It holds onto love despite what sense and emotion tells it. And it is often, in the battle of those three, the most brilliant of all."

I liked the story, but it wasn't my favorite from this author. Still glad I read it though.
