About this listen

She's a shy fiddle player from the city.

He's a small-town cowboy with the reputation of a playboy.

And they'll be working side-by-side, all day every day.

PRESLEY JAMES isn't one for being impulsive. But now she's found herself smack dab in the middle of Randall, Texas. Population 5,549. And to make matters worse, she can't seem to get away from a cowboy whose love of giving her nicknames is testing her patience. A cowboy who is flirty, annoying, and too young for her.

KADE MONTGOMERY has enough on his plate. Between constant fights with his family and a brand new dude ranch to build, he doesn't do relationships. But he does do women, booze, and fun . . . until a certain purple-haired, tattooed city girl walks in and changes everything.

Will Kade and his playboy ways send Presley running for the hills, or will he be able to rope her in?

Contains mature themes.

Rope Me In is a heartwarming combination of raw emotion, personal growth, romance and steam. These characters stole my heart and the redemption arc for Kade was everything. Don’t forget to check your TWs–grief, addiction, and mental health play a primary role throughout the story.

Lucy Rivers as Presley James. Presley is running from her problems and trying to figure out a new plan for her life. Rivers did an excellent job channeling Presley’s feelings of anxiety and self-doubt as Presley learns to love herself just the way she is and find healing. Rivers created a believable and touching journey that focused on mental health and finding family and love when you least expect it.

Grayson Owens as Kade Montgomery. Kade is angry at the world and his story is raw and gritty as he struggles with grief, addiction, and mental health while also finding love when he doesn’t feel worthy of love. Owens does a phenomenal job embodying Kade’s emotions and you feel Kade’s hurt, pain and vulnerability through Owens' expressive performance.

If you’re a fan of cowboy romances with substance and spice, then I can’t recommend this series enough!

Another hit by Kayla Grosse! I listened to this in one day. I loved the characters and watching their growth. Spicy cowboy scenes and communications vs a third act breakup! Cannot wait for Jake’s book!

Binged in one day

Overall, I enjoyed this story. I'd say the only thing I didn't really care for was the female they're raider. I felt she was very robotic and not a lot of emotion which was not good. But other than that I liked it.

Best Narrators

It’s a good story and I like the male narrator but I hated the female narrator. The breathy, soft voice just was not for me. And it was a noticeable volume difference which only made me dislike it more.

Good story butttttt

I felt this story so much. Kade going through his troubles and Presley with her relationship problems. Their stories were so emotional and I am so happy they were there for each other. I am so happy to have listened to the book

The feels

I liked the first book but couldn’t stand this one. I typically devour a good series or family saga but this felt pasted together at best, as if a few good scenes were written and then you have troll through the monotonous repetitive inner monologues to get to another mediocre interaction. To me, it feels like it was a complete miss, so many cliches, the co-dependency as “love”, the main female character Presley so strong and very confident in her talent, confident enough to tell it like it is but not confident anywhere else? I get what the writer was trying to do but it fell completely short for me. 2 broken people finding each other felt more like the glorification of a woman needing to fix a broken man and woman needs man to show her how to be confident in her body and settling for good enough. A contributing factor to me was Lucy’s narration - the character was supposed to be from Dallas with no accent, her male voice is cringy, she annoyingly talks fast like every scene is a panic attack and always goes up at the end of her sentences.

Not worth it
