About this listen

Melody Proust is in love with her boss, his inhuman good looks and irresistible sex appeal making it hard for her to do her job. Black dragon Kol Magnus has no interest in his sweet, blonde personal assistant. But Melody is too dear a bonded human to foist off on just any other dragon. He needs one who is worthy of mating a human woman as special as Melody.

Melody doesn't even know dragons exist, but she knows there's something special about the pair of men to whose "employ" her boss transfers her. The gorgeous, aloof Skye intrigues her, her interest piqued after the most confoundingly erotic interview of her life. Skye's sweet, blond assistant, Garen, is every bit as enticing as his boss. He's even more inhumanly gorgeous and just as hungry for what Melody has to offer. And she's supposed to work for these two?

Within the first week, everything goes south when she finds herself falling for both elusive men and their otherworldly charms. In spite of the unconventionally intimate position she now holds, Melody never considered the possibility of love. She rejected romance for most of her life because love was her enemy. Love left her mother wanting and left Melody unwilling to risk her heart lest she be forced to endure the same pain.

The realization that she has to choose between two men she loves beyond all understanding sends her running scared. She refuses to choose, but the only other option is to lose them both and risk even worse heartbreak without ever learning what they really are. Will she follow her heart or lose it all?

Garen and Skye chase her, too consumed by love to do anything but compromise for Melody's sake. Despite loving each other for centuries, the pair of dragon shifters forsake their own complicated romance in Melody’s favor, because two dragons are forbidden from sharing a single human mate, but Melody is the one who is burdened with the final choice.

Once in their embrace, Melody makes her choice - the choice fate intended all along.

I truly enjoyed this book.

This book was great. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. It's a little different than the author's other books in plot, but it's still amazing. The character development is wonderful and the narration of the audio book was awesome. I volunteered to listen to this book.

This was my first audiobook by Ophelia Bell and I enjoyed it! I liked that a HEA was attained by both Melody and her mom but didn’t like not knowing the circumstance of the upcoming pregnancy. The narrators did a great job as well.

Beautiful

This truly was an amazing story. The romance back and forth and the love the men had for each other was sincere. Melody had it really hard not knowing where she fit in knowing that there was something else in the world. She felt the difference in the desire and the release of her organs when it came to her unknown dragon men. I loved her persistence on wanting to find out the truth in them and wanting to know, why her. and then, her father, that wasn't her father. She finds out the truth.

The narrators did a wonderful job. It felt like I was there. At moments of ecstasy, your body just feels worked up. There are moments where you have to find your own release. The author really gets into the moment of pleasure when needed. When it's a time for emotions, you get emotional. These narrators are two of the best, I'd have to say.

Scortching Hot and so Ophelia Bell!

Wow. This one should come with a warning label: Only listen when you have some sort of relief readily available. It was HOT. Ophelia Bell is one of the best erotic paranormal writers that I have read or listened to and when you pair her with Ava Lucas and JF Harding, I was about to spontaneously combust. I love a good MMF and this had great elements. I wished there was a tad bit more depth of story to it, but I still love all of the dragon hotness and my ears were on fire listening to it.

Heavy on MM sex

I love the way the story continues with the characters. Too much "I want him/her, but I'm not good enough." And many opportunities for sex had the curtain drawn.

Double Dragon Delight

Rating: ❤❤❤.5
Heat Rating: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Narrator Performance: Female: 🎧🎧🎧🎧 Male: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧

Dragon's Melody was my first experience with Ophelia Bell's work and I'm happy to say that I enjoyed it. Which is a bit weird as I found more faults with it than positives. I think it's because those positives shown so much that they completely overshadowed the negatives. Here's my breakdown.

Negatives
• Dragon's Melody is supposed to be a standalone. It's not IMO. To me it seemed as if there was information about dragon society that was missing. That the backstory was incomplete. Especially when it comes to the sleep/hibernation thing. If you look at Bell's other work you'll see that she has a series for both sleeping and rising dragons [This book is a standalone in the Rising series if I'm reading the book list located at the back correctly]. It seems as if the author's dragon books take place in the same universe but if this book was a complete standalone some of the mythology should have been repeated.

• This may seem anal but the book title really bugs me. "Dragon's" is singular possessive so which dragon does Melody belong to? This is a M/F/M novel so singular possessive just doesn't seem right to me.

• The book was too long and dragged at some points.

• There's a continuity issue with the color of Melody's hair. Sometimes it was blond and others it was strawberry blond.

• Because of KU whispersync I was able to scan the book to highlight things and whatnot. An editing issue that jumped out at me was blond/blonde. Both are used frequently throughout the book. Stick to one spelling of the word. That type of thing irks me.

• Melody was blessed while still in utero. However it wasn't like the type of spiritual blessing that you would get from a priest. This confused me because the blessing was sometimes referred to as having some sort of value like how big the blessing was or what type it was.

• There was a bestiality scene.

Positives
• Although this was a M/F/M book there were two F/M/F scenes. They weren't graphic though which I appreciated since I'm not supper into reading/listening to that genre. I do recognize the need for the scenes though. They where a necessity of the dragon way and they helped build the story.

• I loved the reason why Melody ran away. It was very giving and showed how much she recognized the bond between her dragons. It also took strength in character.

• The sex! OMG was it fabulous. I've long been aware that I tend to disassociate myself from a book a bit when I listen to it. Things simply aren't as intense when compared with actually reading something. It was soooo not the case with this book. Bell's writing is both erotic and evocative. A lot of times authors write scenes that are erotic as far as the actions that are happening but with this author I was actually able to feel it.

• Being a dad isn't a biological thing but an emotional one. Bell made that quite obvious with her words. That recognition is sometimes denied.

• The way that dragons feed is something that any woman would appreciate 😉 And the way that it was explained to Melody as a child was pretty funny LOL!

So yeah, you can see that I found some things that I didn't like about the book but they DO NOT deter me from reading/listening to more of Bell's work. In fact, I'm excited at the prospect!

P.S. I would have given this a 4 if it weren't for the bestiality scene.

About The Narrators
Dragon's Melody is narrated by two wonderful narrators. Both had paces that worked well with the text, neither too slow nor too fast. Both gave believable performances acting wise. Out of the two however JF Harding was the one that I liked the most. His voice is super sexy. And he used an accent for Skye which is always a big plus in my book. While Ava Lucas did a great job I feel that she really needed to put more definition into the male characters.

*Contains bestiality, F/M/F, M/M, M/F and M/F/M sex scenes.

Great Story!!

A great ménage story by one of my all-time favorite authors. I loved this complex romantic tale which encompasses the full gambit of overwhelming passion, heartbreaking loneliness, and the ensuing formation of an intense mating bond. You will fall in love with each of these characters as you listen to this story…

Dragon’s Melody

This is the first book I have read from both this series and author. I have to say that I am glad to have found a new author for me to read many books from since I enjoyed this one so much. The turmoil of a love triangle is so present here that you feel everything from all three. Luckily they are able to find a perfect ending for themselves.

Dreamy and Steamy

I loved Melody's story! If you like steamy scenes I highly recommend this book. Ophelia's books never disappoint. It's an up and down ride of emotion tinged with lust and peppered through with hot steamy goodness. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
