Publisher's summary
High school chemistry teacher Shelly Lewis is looking for love, passion, and companionship. Given the extra padding on her petite frame, she figures settling for companionship and deep caring would be enough.
That is until she meets Jase, who sets her on fire and keeps the fire within her burning brightly. But she thinks she's better suited for someone more reserved and less handsome...someone like her widowed neighbor Drew.
After a series of amazing dates and more chemistry than should be legal, Shelly realizes she can't settle for anything less than she has with Jase.
Falling in love never felt so good or so right, but after one night of passion, Shelly gets a glimpse of the demons haunting Jase, and she has to wonder, who is this man I've fallen for?
Will Jase be able to overcome his past and be the man Shelly needs? Will Shelly forgive his bad behavior so they can forge the future they have, ready or not?

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.

Not quite worth a credit, but worth a read.
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would slow it down just a little, and work on Drew just a bit.
Would you recommend Double Steam: A BWWM Romance to your friends? Why or why not?
I would recommend the book to them if they wanted a break from the intense stories. This one was fast, but not intense.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
On one hand, I liked that the book was not boring and kind of fast paced. But on the other hand, I didn't like how fast and brusk the narrator's voice was at times. I felt that I was being rushed through the book.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Probably not.

It was an ok listen quick while I get my nails done. Could have developed the characters a bit more, added a bit more depth to the story and explore the widowed neighbor more c

A quick read
Any additional comments?
I listen to this book on audible, which is narrated by Aundrea Mitchell. I have listened to a couple other novellas narrated by her and really enjoy them. She makes the books easy to listen to and enjoyable. Sometimes I did chuckle at the "male" voice but I think that one can be hard for a lot of females.
This story is a quick one that doesn't go to in depth but we learn a bit about our main character and her dating troubles. She has two men wanting her and she has to decide. It turns out to be easy to choose due to a couple reasons. Jase the sexy club owner or Drew the widow next door, I would have to choose Jase. This is a lesson learned novella. I really wish there would be a book two or this had been a novel as I think there would have been enough story to make it longer.
I give this a book a 3.5 stars out of 5.

Cute Story
Would you consider the audio edition of Double Steam: A BWWM Romance to be better than the print version?
Yes
Would you recommend Double Steam: A BWWM Romance to your friends? Why or why not?
I would only recommend if they were bored and wanted a quick read. It is too short to keep you engaged.
Which character – as performed by Aundrea Mitchell – was your favorite?
All were about the same. Although I liked the best friend better than the others.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes when she put the fresh teacher down with her self defense skills.

Good book
I thought this book was really good. I don't know why but I want me a white man lol I find them attractive. But anyways this was a good book I wonder if there's a second part or will be a second part to this book because it was a really good short quick read. I liked it.

an ok bwwm (prego) story
The lead character is a high school chemistry teacher that is around size 14-16. I felt for this character when she just wanted some fun and "action" but, didn't want to "settle" for boring or bad treament. And accident lustful hook up all most ruin a good thing. I wish the story didn't have the prego part but, it was still a ok bwwm story.
