Publisher's summary

Don't miss the Wizard's Tower Books 1-3 Box Set, a LitRPG adventure about a cranky wizard who seeks solitude in orer to uncover all of the mysteries of magic.

The humans call me Nemon Fargus. They call me wizard, and [Elementalist] and [Enchanter]. They call me teacher. They call me adventurer.

But I don't care. Not anymore.

For more than 150 years I've served the Kingdom of Sena. Through four Kings and a Queen. Two wars and a rebellion. I've founded and taught at a magic school. I've fought against beast waves and dungeon breaks.

But now? Now, the one close friend I had left has passed. So, I'm done with their politics and their economics. The short and busy lives of humans are more burden than benefit on the weary soul of this half-elf.

Now, I'm looking for a refuge, a place that can well and truly be my own. Away from the growing cities and the bustling markets, away from the pointless wars, away from the eager students and the arrogant adventurers.

I'm seeking the peaceful life of a wizard in his tower, studying magic to advance my spellcraft...We'll see if that happens.

Experience this LitRPG Series Bundle from Gregory Allanther, the bestselling author of An Old Man's Journey.

Funny, engaging and just very entertaining

Lovely gem! Good writing as far as I'm concerned and amazing performance by the narrators. Wizards, spelcraft the End of the Age and… couches and wars , carrots and gods, pants and hydras. ;)

Unique Main Character

I’d really love to read another one to see truly how the main character would grapple with the secrets of the world and his emotions laid bare. His odd predicament of having to long to live gave him some idiosyncrasy’s. The world and rules where interesting as well when we discovered them as the MC did

A good 2.5 books, then a rushed ending

I was enjoying the story until about halfway through the 3rd book. At that point, it seems like the author decided he was done with this story and needed to quickly wrap up as many of the loose ends as possible before ending the story.

At the end of the story, there are many things that just happened offscreen and we are told about it after the fact. Some of the major side plots were just sort of swept under the rug.

The book ends on a joke after a rushed & confusing explanation of what just happened. It was seriously disappointing.

Before the rushed ending, I was enjoying the story. It was like a less polished version of the Spellmonger series, with a slightly less likable protagonist. One thing this MC did, which I can’t recall another protagonist doing, was to actively ignore people when they were talking to him. Like they would be speaking and then he would start a distracted rant on his head about a completely different subject, then tune back in long enough to dismiss whoever was speaking to him. I think it was notable because it happened OFTEN. lol

Relatable lead character kept me entertained.

Overall I really liked the books. The lead character was relatable, and the storyline was filled with just enough surprises to keep it from being predictable. Each book could have easily been twice as long to add character development and backstory, so I'm really hoping there will be some prequels and spin-offs someday. while there are references to tears of magic, and something called a sold scroll, there's nothing else that really ties it to a game based system, so I would say it almost doesn't even qualify as part of the recent rash of games turned into book form. There are a few that have gotten it right, but most get too distracting with that level of detail to interrupt a story. this seres idoes not have that problem, and I recommend it to anybody who likes wizard focused fantasy.

Waste of talent

The voice acting is about the only thing that saves this book. the actors are top notch, and perform masterfully, the author...didn't.

This story wanders from scene to scene like a drunken sailor during an earthquake.

Satisfying high fantasy, with a LITRPG sprinkle

Overall a very entertaining tale. I like the main character and most of the side characters. I'll pretend Lily doesn't exist.

A very well thought out world. The magic and plot were well planned. There were a few side plots that didn't seem like they ever went anywhere but as a whole, the story reads like a slice of life fantasy.

Main audiobook narrator is amazing. I personally find the female narrator grating, but her voice is clear if annoying.

While levels a la LITRPG exists, it's done in a low key manner and is very digestible.

good story terrible narration

I'm riding this with you with voice to text so apologies for them in spelling errors. the story itself is good. Jeff Hayes was good. Andrea Parks new was good. the main narrator though was just terrible. I ended up listening to the thing at 1 and 1/2 speed. just get through it quicker to feel like I didn't waste the credit. his voice was slow and monotonous and by speeding it up it only reached normally human speech levels for the most part, this book wrapped up really well, but I feel it's possible for there to be a fourth book in this series. there's enough plot hooks left on finished. if I had it to do over again I would have read these and never have listened to them. hope this helps

well written, excellent narration!

95% of the books kept me captivated not wanting to stop, a few parts I zoned out from. some parts were so well written and narrated I couldn't stop laughing, and at times crying. the interlude before chapter 20 in book 3 left me bawling and filled with such love and sorrow! I love when a story can move me so much!

Good

I liked this one. Litrpg without an overabundance of the rpg. Good characters and relatable. Carrots??? lol.
