About this listen

Three epic LitRPG books, now in one volume!

Before being conscripted to fight in the Total War, Private Hector Park had a shattered family, a collection of old video games, and a promising career as a motorcycle stuntman. Now, he is dying from a virus threatening humankind with extinction. He has three days to live. When Hector’s brother contacts him after years of hostile silence, Hector goes to try and make peace. But his brother offers him something even better: the chance to cheat death by joining him in Archemi, a full-immersion fantasy VR-RPG video game.

Hector undergoes the experimental upload process and chooses the difficult path of the dragon knight. To achieve his dream, he must prove himself worthy of imprinting a dragon, a being with whom he will share a telepathic bond more intimate than any human relationship. But at what cost?

Join Hector as he finds his wings, levels up, and transforms from an aspiring dragon knight to a powerful force of change in his new reality. This omnibus contains three full-length novels, a link to an hour of free audio, and much more!

Good story, but repetitive

I genuinely have enjoyed this story. It is compelling and interesting, and overall a great listening experience. Slight spoilers for my only issues with the story. So far, each of the books sets up their final act with a betrayal or other such twist that leads to the capture and eventual escape of Hector. While this is fine on its own, said sequence of events becomes more frustrating with each repetition. I will be listening to the fourth installment, but may drop the series of this pattern continues.

A great litrpg ride!

Strong character development with a world ending story. The narration performance is one of the best too.

Awesome Just Awesome

One of the best trilogies I’ve ever listened to. The stories were fantastic the narrators were awesome everything about this was great. Plus it was on sale even better. I love this story and I love audible. that being said there’s one thing that really drives me nuts. In one chapter Hector is given a quest to remove his oathbreaker status and just because he doesn’t believe in religion he doesn’t want to pray to the God, whose Harold is even though doing so might make his quest so much easier, he’s just DENCE. It’s so frustrating sometimes it’s like just shut up and deal with it and do what you know will make things easier. OK now I’m done lol

HELLO PEOPLE

I just finished reading book 6 in this series. lemme tell you. Its great, book 1 was a little rough for me. I couldn't follow along. Seemed boring half the time but picks up close to the end. I think Book 2 really made me stick with this series.

There's Romance in this story but it doesn't take away from the plot. I would say the romance kinda bends towards harem/poly relationships. I'm fine with this because of Benjamin Medrano books series. He focuses on polyamory. So when I saw this here, it was a welcome surprise.

(If that doesn't sit right with you. Yes the romance pops up here and there but I think you should still stay for the story)

Fun characters especially vash you'll meet him later in the books. Hector and his banter is so funny to me at times.

performance was great. Talented people working on this audiobook. Plus the music brings the story to life. When the music picks up. You know it's gonna be a great scene.

Some stuff might trigger some people. Deals with some dark theme so ya been warned.

so,

book 1 and 2 is a 4/5
book 3 through 6 is 5/5
especially book 6 really picks up and looking forward to the last 3 books I believe that'll come.

Excessive Cussing

Too much cussing for the sake of cussing. It's unfortunate as it seems it could have been a good story. I'll be returning the title.

Great series

I enjoyed this a great deal; the performers are great and made the story come alive for me. I think anyone into the LitRpg stuff will love this series. I think story premise works and except for a few errors in class level etc seems good a believable. I do take issue that I am sick of the bad guys always being twice has high in level and always seem to know everything, yet our hero never seems do anything about. I understand this but its not real life or how in general rpgs go. Its cheats for the bad guys but just a an overreach. I mean he is level 18 but they are 35 yet he wins, It would be more believable if he was 18 and they 22 or 24.

I will continue the series, many of the other LitRpg I read have 1 or two OP enemies but in this they all are

Except for my pet issues I really loved the series

LITRPG masterpiece

I didn’t realize how much I needed this book. I’m a huge fan of the LitRPG genre but Im’ so tired of authors placing the emphasis on stats and RPG mechanics over the actual story and character development. This book series is fantastic because it makes the story the center piece and the main characters have actual growth, not just in stats but in their personality. However, what took this series into another whole level of amazingness were the two narrators phenomenal performance, I can’t overstate enough how great they both were and now I’m sad because it’s going to be hard trying to find another series that is this fantastic.

Adult themes

Slight spoiler warning!

Honestly adult themes (sexual encounters/nudity) always feel awkward and distract to heavily from the main story most of the time. This story is no different. It feels very out of place for what is suppose to be high elven society, I can understand certain scenarios where it can work. But it’s extremely hard to hit right. Overall the scenes were far to jaring even if they were short.

A warning would be appreciated in description.

Story is very solid though, and the idea and world building are pretty good! Narration wasn’t bad either

Great story and performance

Like the title says, not a lot of audio books put this kind of performance into the stories.
